Were Liverpool out of form when Arsenal thrashed them 3-0 at Emirates earlier this season too!??

Arsenal lost every goal in a week... it is logical for them not to perform well, they are uninspired and upset... West ham beat them, that says it all...
Remember Arsenal might not be contending for the title but they beat United twice!
PS On another note, great tactical game by Mourinho last night but the things he had been saying all week long before the game, not matter why he says them (I believe it's mostly to take the pressure off his players) make him look kinda comical in my eyes... I don't want that man in Milan, maybe if we could steal his tactical brilliance!

I know it's very early to say something like this but he could be the best manager in Premiership history.
He's still very, very young in terms of a manager yet he has some ridiculous record of not losing a home league match for five years or something during his time with both Porto and Chelsea.
He has the UEFA Cup with Porto, then followed it up with the CL next year. To do that is superb, but with Porto? That maks it even more of an achievment. Having to fight of all the Giants of England, Germany, Spain, Italy and even France.
My point is Jose gets it done, and he will continue to do that. Love or hate him, you have to respect what he does when it comes to football.

No. He'll leave soon... he' won't be like Ferguson 15 or 20 years in England. Obviously people will remind him as "that cnut who won everything with Chelsea".

He wants to go Italy and Spain. He said it more than once. He wants to win everything in that countries too. He just misses the FA Cup and the CL with an English club... then, I believe he'll leave.

With Ancelotti we've done better in the Champions League than he has done with Chelski having spent 1/10 of the money he has...
And in the league, he had Giuve... This season where (as you say) "FA want United to win the championship" he's second...

He's great but I don't think he's done anything special in Chelski. For a manager of his level he should have done more, reaching the CL final for a start!

AHH!
Don't bring money into this!
Chelsea have spent alot, yes.
United are just as bad, they've spent MORE than Chelsea in the last 6 years, but no-one accuses them of 'buying the league'.
Rooney - £25m
RVN - £20m
Carrick - £18m
Veron - £20m
Ferdinand - £30m
Ronaldo - £12m
There's well over £100m in recent years, so f@ck the money Chelsea spend, that means nothing. Mourinho has worked magic, regardless of the money spent.

I do agree there.
Chelsea could have spent much less on getting the same players. They just over-bid for players to fend off other teams, and save a bidding war.
I can't say I'd hate to see Milan throwing that kind of cash around.

Man United didn't need to spend big (I mean, like Chelsea) in the last 2-3 years because they already had a top team. Chelsea no. They were an average team and Abramovich wanted impact right from the moment he took Chelsea.
Now... you won't see Chelsea buying a big list of names every summer. Nor United. Nowadays they don't need it. Just like Milan or Inter. It's 2-3 new players for X,Y,Z position and it's ok. Nothing like 5-6 superstars... 100M/euros per Summer like Abramovich did.

Chelsea's Spending Puts Them Under Pressure - Benitez
Chelsea dropped points at the weekend to leave them five points behind Manchester United and seemingly unlikely to win the title and Benitez feels this stacks up the pressure on their opponents on Tuesday night.
Liverpool entertain Chelsea at Anfield in the semi-final second leg trailing 1-0 from last week's first leg.
"I don't want to analyse what Chelsea say or do," Benitez said in the Daily Express.
However, he added: "All I know is that they have spent millions and millions and they need to win trophies.
"If you spend this amount of money, it is to win trophies.
"That means if they cannot win the league now, they will be under real pressure.
"The positive thing for me is that we played badly, but conceded one at Stamford Bridge."

But the fact that Gallas wanted to leave cannot be ignored, they sould have just solf him or even asked Arsenal for Eboue instead of Cole, when they have such a clear problem in the RB area.

Boulahrouz was terrible everytime I saw him at CB for Chelsea this season. Making stupid mistakes, giving away penalties and everything in between.

makele is a holding midfielder (in fact alot of people would argue he's the best in the world at it) and lamps is certainly not (although he can play deep, but he's always far forward). but you only need 1 one holding mid, and alonso can play that position or mascherano, sissoko(when he's fit) and even gerrard.

That is what I was pointing out, if Mourinho plays a 433, Chelsea's midfield won't be as strong as Liverpools'. Makelele is great, but he is 34 I think and not be able to cope with Gerard, Alonso, Sissoko, and others like Penant etc .. That Liverpool will play to counter Chelsea's attempts.

Benitez put Zenden on the 1st leg 'cause L.Garcia, Kewell, Aurelio and (Finnan) were out. With Finnan today, I'll say Arbeloa will move to the left and Riise to LW.
