Isn't Anderson a forward ?? Don't you like him ?? I've only watched him once and he looked very good for his age ...
QUOTE (Portugal @ Nov 2 2006, 01:24 PM)
The problem of Sporting is that they've a deal with ManUtd for their young players. (Since Cristiano Ronaldo...)

Wow !! Good for them ... you mean like they have are the first option or something ?

I did not put Anderson, first 'cause he's still too young, and it's 'rumoured' that he's Barcelona domain (he'll be on a near future, probably if R10 leaves). But yes, he's good. A great future coming up. And he's not a foward. He's a #10 - attacking midfielder.

Yes. Something like that.

Group F: SL Benfica 3-0 Celtic FC
Nélson (Benfica)

The young full-back was at his rampaging tonight as Benfica revived their qualifying hopes with an avenging win over Celtic. Aways looking to get forward and link with midfield and attack, the Portuguese under-21 international bristled with menace with his surging runs and deadly delivery from the right. Indeed, he provided two assists as Gary Caldwell turned in his dangerous centre early on while Andrei Karyaka converted his cross for the third goal.

CL Reaction: (Benfica) Full Nélson

Voted by UEFA as the man of the match as Benfica exacted precise revenge for the 3-0 suffered in Glasgow a fortnight ago, wing-back Nélson was pleased with the award but preferred to look at the positive change in the group dynamic.

“I feel that I’m better in all senses after a while where injuries and other things didn’t really help me, but I prefer to look at the team as a whole and feel great when I see that we’re coming together to produce the sort of football that we know we’re capable of”, explained the back.

“It’s a positive circle as seeing the team work better gives more self-confidence to the players, and when the players have more self-confidence then the team profits from our improved performances as individuals”, added Nélson.

“As to myself, I want to concentrate on getting past the last stage of my injury and shake off the niggling pains that have been bothering me. Our objective as a team is to get that second place and the qualification from our group. There are still two matches left to play and we just depend on how we play, so we’re confident that we can make it through”, he concluded.

!!!! I fear Bremen ! I honestly think they are the team to beat ! They could go far .. REALLY far in CL .. especially since they are hungry for glory and have a remarkable team .. Man do they play with heart !

I dont know whether Mourinho gave them the game or if it was simply from what I saw .. But in all honesty, they almost knocked Juve out last season .. I think they have a good chance ..

Benfica = Barcelona = Need to win on the last round to qualify. It will be hard for both teams.

I keep hearing people saying how they'd love Rijkaard to be our coach... Yet it's clear that he is not such a great coach... If you say he won both La Liga and CL last year, I say it's because he had/has many world class players at his disposal who were very very hungry for trophies. In fact I remember none of them had won the CL before... And you can see how things have changed this season. They are not a very hungry team anymore and despite having argubly the best squad in the world, Rijkaard is finding himself in trouble.... I mean now that Eto'o is out injured, he can't even make a couple changes to make his team adjust better to his absence. Instead, he puts Gudjohnson in Eto'o place... I mean come on... Gudjohnson isn't even a forward... He is a shadow striker/ midfielder. How can you play with 3 shadow strikers? lol (messi, R10, Gud)
dst
in fact Deco had won it before ... not that it matters in what you said ...

I agree on that Frank is not anything special, he's far from it actually ... but you can't blame him for fielding Gudjohnsen (whom I like) ... Eto'o, Messi and Saviola are all injured ... what can he possibly do !!?

Saviola and Messi weren't injured... Unless this is something new... Anyways, I'm glad you share my opinion on Franky... What do you think of Hiddink?

Sir Alex Ferguson feels he has done a 'terrific bit of business' in finally bringing Henrik Larsson to Manchester United.

Larsson will join United on January 1 from Helsingborgs in a loan deal which will run until March 12.

The Swede will add cover to United's striking options, with Wayne Rooney and Louis Saha currently the only fit front men at Old Trafford.

Ferguson expressed his delight at securing a deal for Larsson and outlined his previous attempts to bring the 35-year-old to the Premiership.

The United boss also intimated that the ex-Celtic star's versatility will be a vital asset during his stay at the club.

"I have always admired him," said Ferguson.

"I made a move for him when he was at Celtic, but then they managed to persuade him to stay.

"He is a great player. It is a terrific bit of business for us.

"We are bringing someone in who can change a game. When you think back to the Champions League final he was the one who won it for Barcelona when he came on.

"He can play wide right, wide left or up front. I am really happy we have got him.

"I would have liked to have signed him long ago, but I knew he wanted to go to Barcelona and then he went home."

Prior to the official start of Larsson's loan spell on January 1, he will take in United's game with West Ham on December 17, train for a week before returning to Sweden for Christmas.
