Italian side AC Milan are reported to be interested in signing Barcelona's Edmilson - and the Brazilian midfielder has done little to discourage the speculation.
The 30-year-old told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he hoped Milan would follow up their reported interest.
Edmilson said: "If Milan are interested in signing me they need to take a step.
"I have a year's contract with Barcelona so I am not free to decide my future but I like Milan and I like Serie A."
The versatile central defender or holding midfield player has been plagued by injury since moving from Lyon in 2004, tearing cruciate knee ligaments that sidelined him for six months soon after his transfer.
He returned the next season and played an important part in Barcelona's league and European Cup success and has played 23 times for the Catalans this campaign.
In 2002 he picked up a World Cup winners medal with Brazil, although injury forced him to pull out of the squad for the 2006 tournament.
He also holds an Italian passport which would make any potential move from the Serie A side straight-forward.

He's nothing special, alright I suppose.
He did win the European Cup last year, no CL winning team can afford a weak link, I'll take all the Euro champs we can have.

Vogel is miles better than him. I'd rather have him back if we are not getting Emerson.

He would be o.k. He can cover two positions, solid and 30 y.o (Milan age

). But he's very injury prone.

why are after defensive midfilders? we have like 50 guys that can play in that position : gattuso, brocchi, pirlo, ambro. why do we need a another? the only defensive midfielder i wanna hear about signing is de rossi cuz he's got a great shot and is very good going forward + young and italian and already an italian international.

But do you know what he had to do to get his hands on that ticket? There is a reason why dst doesn't like Seedorf.
