Brazil just had a goal disallowed.
Milan Are Brilliant
Seem to get a lot of goals in this tournament but there just isn't the intensity of like a World Cup in my opinion, seems almost like an exhibition at times, perhaps that's just the South American style that I'm not used to.

Or the fact that we've got the dodgy La Liga commentators who are about as exciting as counting sheep rolleyes.gif
Tennie
I'd be thrilled with the dodgy La Liga commentators. The jokers doing commentary for Gol TV are beyond horrible. My stuffed fish doll could do better commentary!
Tennie
Buh. Goal Mexico! 1-0.
kurtsimonw
Mexico 1-0. Superb goal!

Haha, I can't take these guys seriously ever since they commentated for 'Dream Team' on Skyone a dodgy English football program.

The screams of Karl Fletcher just used to make me laugh - Kurt should know what I'm on about!

2-0 Mexico What a goal again

Yeah, Mexico look pretty handy up top.

I used to watch Dream Team with my dad. tongue.gif

Not because it was good, it was just awfullly funny. The fact they ALWAYS won/lost the game in the 90th minute. rolleyes.gif

P.S. My dad even has the Harchester away shirt. laugh.gif
Tennie
Er. Go Harchester? smile.gif (We get Dream Team on Fox Soccer Channel).

And Mexico is looking surprisingly strong against Brazil. Just...wow.

Haha laugh.gif I watched it for like the 7th/8th series or something like that the one with Phil Wallace as the chairman the guy who won the lottery and up until that Don bloke crashed into the bus. Think that's their names.

Then at the start of the next series they replaced like everyone and even included a rude boy like Arsenal's Eboue, at that point I gave up with watching it!

Yeah. That's all I watched, too. I don't remember many names though, just Fletcher and Jaws, the keeper. He was hilarious, he looked like a complete nutter. laugh.gif

Oh yeah I remember him, bet there was some other reasons as well I certainly remember Tash Parker not often you see a stunning English girl like her!

I need to start watching some of this 'Lost' stuff or 'Prison Break' or something I don't really follow any TV programs anymore!

Just realized a strong correlation as well they've all moved onto soaps!
kurtsimonw
The way Mexico's defenders and keeper are playing, they deserve 3 points. Their keeper just made the most fantastic save. ohmy.gif
Tennie
Shocking. Brazil totally outclassed by Mexico. It could easily have been more than the 2-0 final result.

Very deserving win.

How the hell did Castillo miss that chance at the end! laugh.gif

Mexico is just pissed after getting owned by the US again laugh.gif laugh.gif

I thought Diego and Robinho were good enough to carry the team, guess I was wrong

I enjoyed it looking forward to seeing the Argie boys tonight - if I can stay awake!
Tennie
Yeah, the Argies are going to be interesting to watch. I fear for the poor US team.

I heard they arrived without players who play in Europe ,so it would be extra difficult.
Tennie
My understanding is that the US coach had to rotate the call-ups between the Gold Cup and the Copa America, since MLS is in the middle of its season. The Gold Cup, being the CONCACAF tournament, got the priority. So yeah, some of the names you would normally expect to see won't be there. (However, I'll be interested to see how the two DC United guys do. They're my local team.)

Go Lionel!! cool.gif
Tennie
Well, Roque Santa Cruz has scored twice so far to put Paraguay ahead of Colombia (48th min). Not the most thrilling of games, thus far.

Edit: Make that three goals for Santa Cruz. And yet another from Paraguay just now (85th minute). Er. And another in the 87th. Poor Colombia. DULL game.
Portman
From yesterday match... Robinho >>> Brazil squad. rolleyes.gif

Well, without Kaka' and Ronaldinho... Robinho is the best foward/SS/LW they have. So it's not big news.
Tennie
Hot d*mn. USA 1 - Argies 0. Eddie Johnson on a penalty.
kurtsimonw
USA lead. 1-0 penalty. ohmy.gif

I think they should be docked points for wearing such an ugly shirt. tongue.gif

GOAL CRESPO!!!!

1-1
Tennie
Well, that didn't last long. Crespo scores in the 11th to equalize. The new haircut looks good.
Darunia
any streams for this match?
Warchant
GOOD LORD SWEET JESUS YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1-0 USA!!!!
Darunia
You're a little behind Warchant lol.
Warchant
DANG YOU CRESPO

sorry, took me too long to type the stupid thing
Warchant
and to think...i use to worship that man

*grumbles under his breathe*
Tennie
Well. Is this the Copa of upsets? The US - minus a number of regular starters - are holding a full-strength Argentina to a draw at halftime. I don't really follow the MLS much and know very little about the US national team, but so far tonight I've been very happily surprised by their performance.
Darunia
Argentina starting to play better, Veron hitting crossbar then Crespo close.
kurtsimonw
Argentina 2-1 USA

Crespo getting his second of the game.
kurtsimonw
AIMAR 3-1!

Superb header.

Damn thunder, messing with my satellite. sad.gif
Tennie
All things considered, it wasn't a bad performance by the US team.

Pablito!!! wub.gif

I just love that player!!!!!!!!!! smile.gif

This is definitely not Brazil's tournament. Fred broke his foot in training and is out.

That's the last time they snub Kurtinho. cool.gif

Bolivia-Uruguay is turning into a kicking match. The ref is horrible and has pretty much lost control. 0-0 in the 57th.

EDIT: Uruguay finally scored a goal. Sanchez in the 59th.
kurtsimonw
This thread is cursed, as soon as somebody says something, there's a goal. rolleyes.gif

Uruguay 1-0 Bolivia. Vicente Sanchez with the goal.
whoarethepatriots
Fred and Cris as the most unimpressive Brazilian names ever

They sound like their from Grimsby more than Rio
kurtsimonw
Uruguay owe Carini, big time.

Uruguay 1-0 Bolivia FT
