15' Penalty to Reading. The foul was outside the box. rolleyes.gif Barcelona-like penalty.

1-0. This is how it's done in England. The same hour United got a free penalty. laugh.gif

Yeah, it was a foul. But the commentator said that, technically, if the foul continues into the box, then it automatically becomes a penalty .. So, I don't know .. But from the replay, Car initiated the contact out of the box !!

Anyways, Reading wont hold on rolleyes.gif This game has Liverpool written all over it.

Just saw the replay. That was bad acting and the ref had a clear view of it... he is either useless or... Italian...

The foul continues? huh.gif That rule has nothing to do with this situation. The foul - Carra's tackle/kick was outside of the box.

I dunno. 4-3-3 with Sissoko, Arbeloa and Voronin playing? rolleyes.gif

27' Gerrard 1-1. Torres assist.

Well, that is what he said, if the foul continues into the box ... I mean, Car's legs were still on him all the way, till he fell into the box ... At least that is what I understood.

Never heard anything like it before .. But I guess it is a legitimate rule.

Anyways .. Yeah, great assist by Torres king.gif

I only started watching the game partway through the second half. The commentators have done little but moan about how there were a lot of bad calls and that Liverpool had 3 penalties not called, etc etc etc.

For those who saw the whole game: is this accurate?

Suck on that Britney!

Arsenal for the title, United will end up trophyless... or so I'd like to think this very moment.

Benitez shouldn't have put the pathetic 4-3-3 with Crouch, Voronin and Torres upfront. I know they were robbed but still... they were playing some good football in the 4-4-2 for weeks, why they changed it in an important week like this one?

Yeah, but I doubt they'll win against C.Ronaldo, Rooney and co. Even at Anfield.
Some players are just not in-form. Then there's always the pressure to win... that may be good or bad (if they lose to United, they completely lose the EPL this year).

Plus they need 2 top players for the RW and RB place. Specially for the RB place as Arbeloa is not a player for a big club and Finnan is old.

I dunno what Rafa wants TBH. The lineup today was beyond pathetic. No wonder Gillett and Hicks are starting to be a bit pissed of with the situation in the club.

I'd prefer Arsenal to United. No doubt.
But I don't think Arsenal will continue in 1st place for many time.

More on Liverpool:
Sissoko: he's a super-destroyer but his passing is one of the worse you can see for a midfielder. He simply cannot pass. Liverpool should sell him: $$$ for a RW/RB + they have decent cover: Gerrard, Lucas, Alonso or Mascherano.

I think United will win or, if that's not possible, be given the 3 points. Obviously, I'd prefer a draw. A lot depends on the CL game midweek. If Liverpool fail to qualify (I doubt it. By the way Marseille won 2-0 at home against Monaco) they'll probably be disappointed. But that would help them in the long run cause they'd focus on the championship. If they beat Marseille they'll be fired up... let's see how Torres can do against a great team like United!

The situation reminds me of that between Mourinho and Abramovich. The tension grows since the Britney fanclub support their coach...

Didn't see this game but it was obvious that these things would happen if you rotate the players all the time. Benites is a very good tactician but you have to give some stability to players and to set a clear hierarchy (it's also true in basketball BTW). Last year he reached a record 99 times without the same line up and it seems he hasn't learned that this simply don't work in EPL.

Liverpool - United it a special game. The biggest game in England. And especially when it's at Anfield, the last thinh Liverpool would wany is to lose to United. Even when Liverpool had much worst years, they fought evenly with United. In this game anything can happen.

Liverpool should have had 1 penalty, while the score was 1-1.

I think it's clear that Liverpool are the Milan of the EPL. They are just not interested in the league, I'll be surprised if benitez lasts until the end of the season, the League title is the only thing the Liverpool fans want this season.

Sagna-----------Toure--------Gallas---------Clichy
Eboue---------Gilberto-----...Diarra---------Rosicky
---------------Adebayor----Eduardo/Walcott-------

Subs:
Lehmann
Bendtner/Walcott

Traore

It's clear what Arsenals weaknesses are. They have no game changers on the bench, they have nobody to bring on in an emergancy. Walcott and Denilson aren't going to do anything.

That's the difference between the leader of EPL and the leaders of La Liga/Serie A.

R.Madrid bench: Robben, Higuain, Gago, Saviola, Guti, Metzelder, Drenthe...
Inter bench: Samuel, Burdisso, Vieira, Jimenez, Dacourt, Crespo, Suazo...

Now compared those to the Arsenal's one. I even think the other big 3 in England have better squads than L'Arsenal. Specially Chelsea and Liverpool.

Maybe the most overrated bench in EPL, yes. But that's usual in Man Utd.
