Milan had dozens of chances to win this match, but they ended up losing deep into stoppages in controversial fashion.

Time was running out for the Rossoneri, who had not strung together three consecutive 1-1 Serie A results since 1984. They needed a win in Sicily to keep in touch with the leading pack, but Palermo were still looking for their first home win, having picked up two away victories. Nelson Dida pulled out with a late shoulder injury scare, while Alberto Gilardino and Emerson were given rare starts.

Milan took the lead after 10 minutes with a well-worked team move. Gilardino and Kaka combined with first touch football on the edge of the area for the Brazilian to chip over the defence and Clarence Seedorf stroked home the finish from the penalty spot.

The Rosanero fought back and Zeljko Kalac beat away a fierce Cassani piledriver from distance. Gennaro Gattuso's shot was charged down by Cristian Zaccardo and Gilardino blasted the loose ball over the bar.

Kaka went on one of his trademark runs and Alberto 'Jimmy' Fontana did well to rush out and block his path after the Brazilian had skipped past a couple of defenders.

Seedorf nearly doubled his tally by cracking a curling ball against the crossbar after some great build-up play from Kaka and Gilardino. Kalac smothered a dangerous Miccoli free kick, then the former Perugia starlet failed to make the most of a promising counter-attack.

Fabio Caserta's challenge on Emerson prompted ignored penalty appeals from 'Il Puma'.

The Rossoneri created dozens of chances, but the scoreline remained at 1-0, as Seedorf's angled drive skimmed the far post and Gilardino failed to make the most of a defensive error.

Kakha Kaladze's tough tackle cut short Miccoli's progress, but Milan again went close as Fontana fingertipped Andrea Pirlo's powerful effort on to the crossbar. From the corner Alessandro Nesta's header was denied by a Fabio Simplicio goalline clearance.

Palermo started to push, but on the counter Milan again failed to put the result under lock and key. Seedorf threaded through for Kaka, who went round the goalkeeper and his angled drive was cleared off the line by a back-tracking defender.

They had to pay for such wasteful finishing and on 73 minutes Palermo equalised in controversial circumstances. Amauri chested down the ball - perhaps with help from his left arm - and crossed low for Aimo Diana to come sliding in from six yards.

Pippo Inzaghi replaced Gilardino and his weak looping header was easily smothered, but Massimo Oddo's error in stoppages allowed Amauri to fire over.

Incredibly, Palermo turned it all around to win in the final seconds of injury time! Another Oddo mistake gave away a free kick and Kalac fumbled Miccoli's set-piece.

I dont know what is more depressing, the fact that we have no reliable goalkeeper or the fact that we will have the same keepers for the forseeable future

So what's the excuse for this, ha Milan board of directors? What is it? The scandal? No? The 8 point penalty? Gone? The World Cup tiredness? Nope? What the hell is your excuse I wanna hear it!!!

The usual story. We were playing great, feeling comfortbble, trying differened combinations and trying to make Gila score. Like they were sure that the scoreline doesn't matter and like it's the show for the fans. Crossbars, clearances from the line you named it, we had it all. Then like in the Parma game, our opponents make an attacking sub, our players get a little tired and then BUM and end of story. Of course, Carlo's subs didn't help at all and kalac was the keeper (what always gives hope to the other team). But hey, at least now we can concentrate on the CL (which we won't win because not every year we will be that lucky and the hunger to prove that we had last year is not there anymore). So yes, I'm super fucking angry but not gonna insult anyone (what good can it do?), but I just hope our management enjoying this mess and maybe, just maybe somebody will explain to them how to build a team that can challenge for both titles cuz year after year building the team with the same f@cking mistakes tells us something about them.

whats there to say? we cant finish our chances because there is no balance in the team because 1 injury and we cant play. there is 3-4 or even 5 players that we can't afford to ever lose because we have no one else like them in the team which is tredding on thin ice and asking for trouble.

1-KAKA (runs our attack going forward)
2-Pirlo (makes us tick)
3-Ronaldo (supports our great finishers in gila and pippo)
4-Nesta (is currently our only world class defender)
5- oddo/janku (are the only guys on our team that give width, the rest of them are useless at it)

we lose 1 or 2 of any of these guys and we have no one that can even come close to replace them... look at us without ronaldo and how well we do.

there is no excuse for 3 draws and a lose.... you create ur own luck... the problem is MILAN's fault.

The only thing I have to look forward to is an 18 year-old kid in January. And I never thought I'd say this, but I hope Gourcuff leaves for a team that believes in him. Not a team that prefers Brocchi to him when they need a goal.

ya brocchi, brocchi is a great example of how stupid our management is. why do we show all this great loyalty to a player that has done sh!t all for us or for anyone his whole career. i mean i completely understand a guy like hierro deserved more cuz he gave so much to the club so they should have returned the favor. but brocchi?!?! why is this loser still with us? what cuz he likes us? and gets along with the other players. i'm sorry but milan is not the make a wish fondation to help poor useless footballers. hence why is he always played? why is he even on the bench? what does he add to the team? i'd like to know what you guys think, cuz i'm baffled really....

i agree the only time i have seen him play well was when he was on loan at Fiorentina!
If Carlo isn't careful then we will lose a great talent in Gourcuff, just as we did in Doorasoh.
He got man of the match every time he played for France but couldn't get on the pitch for more than 15mins for us

i stick by my views milan have a huge problem . it is an insult to our history not to build a team that can compete for the league. i mean with a little effort we could do so much more. with 3-4 quality players we could easily challenge for the league. i mean by the end of the the season how many teams challenge for the league normally 2-3 max? if we could get our team up to standards, from a purely black and white perspective we could have a 1 out 3 chance of winning the league. the CL? theres always 6-7 teams that could win it so nothing is guaranteed for us. just think since we've won the scudetto in 03/04 we have not lead the league once!!! not once in 4 years!!! and generally we've always been 8-9 points min. behind the leaders... truly disappointing.

it is disappointing i never thought i'd say this but for things to change i now believe a change in coach is required
you cannot replace Emerson with Brocchi when you're trying to win a game when you have a talent like Gourcuff on the bench
