It was a harsh call, it seemed like it was just incidental contact. Elbow was up, but it was more of them accidentally running into each other and Keita overreacting (probably because he felt Brazil was flopping a lot at that time)

I liked your original post more.

Keita ran into him (initiated the contact), if there was an elbow, it was just incidental contact. Usually these plays aren't such a big deal, but Keita overreacted as they felt Brazil was flopping a lot during those few minutes. Anyways, let's stop arguing bout it..
Because yes, Keita ran into him
Keita is a joke, once again...

He actually deserves a real elbow...

Just saw Kaka's sending off. That was just ridiculous. Kakà doesn't rise up his elbow to hit Keita, but rather to "feel" the opponent who was rushing on to him. It's a natural response for a football player. Plus the referee didn't see anything.

Anyway, the Ivory Coast player deserved at least a yellow.
This was possibly the worst referee in the whole cup so far. He's the one responsible and to blame.
But on the other hand, Ivory Coast wasn't very friendly too. I can't say they've conquered my heart with such rustical behaviour.

I think both are guilty, at first Kaka just put out his arm as if to hold him from running into him, but once keita did run into him you can see that Kaka pushed his elbow at him.
Both deserved a yellow imo.

That guy was going to hit Kaka.
Kakas hand was close enough his body to protect him self.
I think Fifa should punish referee and that player.

Yes he was, that is why Kaka just stuck his hand out in a defensive gesture as if to stop him from barrelling into him, but when Keita did run into him the defensive arm Kaka had already stuck out turned into an elbow hit.
Look closely, at first there is no intention on Kaka's part to hit him, but as soon as Keita runs into him Kaka pushes his elbow into his upper chest area.
Sure him holding his face and diving like that is just as appaling. That's why I said both deserved a yellow

The ref has to be kicked out the competition. Not only didn't he see the incident, he basically let the CIV players make the decision. Kaka' was sent off for no reason at all.

I REALLY wanted CIV to WIN this game at first. but when they went down 3 goals and started playing it dirty... it wasn't nice.
QUOTE (Locke Lamora @ Jun 21 2010, 01:06 AM)

1. What makes you think Keita was going to hit Kaka?
2. A natural reaction would be to step aside or hold him back with the hand, NOT driving your elbow into the guy's chest.
I agree with you on Kaka's elbow and how he deserved a
second yellow (his first yellow was rubbish and nonexistent), but please don't try to defend CIV players here. at the moment they were kicking Brazilians every 10 seconds.

So now it's DPRK - Portugal. I wonder if this match will come anywhere near their previous meeting -- I've only seen parts of that game. It was in the 1966 world cup and DPRK were leading 3-0. And then Eusebio scored 4 goals and assisted for another, FT 5-3.

Of course there won't be as many goals but it's been a very good game so far with both team creating chances.

Brazil (=Fabiano) cheated but didn't kick CIV players at any given chance. at least they didn't started it all. it was CIV that started making it an ugly game once they realized there were no match for Brazil.

I can't for the life of me understand why DPR dumped their usual tactics and decide to play on the attack and force something. The could just have done a New Zealand and maybe even pulled off a win. They were ripped apart. Portugal was finding space at will!!
