The kid needs time. I mean he's only 20 y.o, moved to foreign country and playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Fergie knows that and I believe will be patient with him in order to gain him lfor long term. The talent is there, he showed it in Spain.

I only watched the 2nd half. United did look good but I think Spurs were terrible in defense. More noticeably in the 3rd goal, Giggs walks in the area, looks up and crosses and no one even bothers to challenge him...

Quick few news bits (from fairly reliable sources):------
A thought that went through my mind the other night was as we all know Sneijder probably is the man Fergie wants, but if that doesn't happen, what about VDV? He didn't exactly look happy on Monday night, perhaps as he's not in a CL side anymore, it could happen, and to me at least he's more inspirational than Modric.

Not sure what game you were watching Ash! Great end to end stuff though we should've won fairly comfortable. Zogs back heel spin turn was a thing of absolute beauty.
Gabby superb again, defensively brilliant. Gotta give mention to Chris Herd, Jarvis in his back pocket all game.
Delph total wank again though. Can't tackle, rarely tracks back and loses the ball whenever he takes someone on, get Makoun in next to Stan please.

Maybe it was better in the stadium, on TV it was pretty painful to watch to be honest. A few chances here and there mainly for N'Zogbia who missed the target on numerous occasions. Hennessey made a couple of parries from crosses and that was really about it.
Herd did well, especially after being practically KO'd from the goal post in the 1st half.

Aug 27 2011, 02:52 PM
Most of our beat chances weren't really much to do with their keeper. Heskey put one half a yard wide, Bent had him stranded with header that went just over, Dubne had one cleared off the line. Though he did have to make a decent save from a Herd header.
Disappointed should be top of the league right now. Cant complain being unbeaten in 3 with 2 clean sheets after last seasons awful defensive record though.

Can all change, remember mid/late Sep last year? It was almost a formality Chelsea were going to win the league. I wouldn't write them off yet, in fact I'd only write Arsenal & Liverpool off, City/Chelsea/United are in it for me. I chose United at the start, and I'll stick with that but I think it will be close, closer than last year.

Now, now! I've seen plenty of 0-0's where I didn't think it was that bad. Just yesterday's wasn't there, it didn't help the stadium seemed to be a 1/4 empty for the first half. I guess as it being a derby you'd expect it to be a bit more lively. I actually enjoy watching Villa (especially in the last few seasons) they play good football, in the main and with a good number of English players so it's good to see.
Just remember I'm a Torquay fan as well, I'm used to seeing boring football!
Anyway, 2 big games today (on TV), should be good. Hope Young gets a HT for the fantasy football!

It was more than a quarter empty.
Villa-Wolves is usually a sell out, but there's so many anti-McLeish 'fans' still around who refused to renew their season tickets. Think yesterday was 30k which is awful. 6k season ticket holders no longer there and Wolves were 2k away from selling their allocation which is poor. Then we always get a few k less when it's on tv/early kick-off. So Villa's support is going to be down around 16% this season for the most part, which is shocking really. Let's hope we start to win a few mre games or have a decent run in the Cup to bring the 'glory hunters' back.
