What? blink.gif

Say he called up Robinho and let him play at the Confed cup, made a winner out of him and let him even score a goal or two. Wouldn't that bump his value a bit?

So, Fiorentina presented Gomez today, and are about to close for Ilicic.

Ilicic
Rossi/Ljajic, Gomez

Not bad.
han2503
The other teams in the league are moving at warp speed in the mercato. Making some great sales and then investing them amazingly well into their squads.

I think kurt's eternal preaching about us being on the same level as Fiorentina and Roma are about to come true next season if things keep progressing as they are while we're stuck on neutral

Gomez

Ljalic - Rossi - Ilicic

Borja - Aquilan

considering you got Romulo, Ambro, Pizzaro on the bench, that's hardly a horrible lineup...

That line-up would most likely get taken apart on counters. There's no one in there to do the dirty work. Aquilani is hardly reliable as a 2-way midfielder.

And Ilicic on the wing is a waste imo.

Strootman to Roma official.

Can't believe he ended up with them.
Fillipo Simone
I'd say he isn't that good judging from which team picked him up ultimately.
acid911
Roman clubs also picked up chaps like Hernanes and Lamela. sleep.gif Both of which are better than anyone and everyone we have, bar Balotelli. Only De Scig and Shaarawy run them close. For me players like these are missed opportunity. Hernanes, Lamela, Strootman, and Handanović all are missed opportunities.
kurtsimonw
Yeah, destination doesn't have anything to do with your quality. Great players have gone to bad teams, crap players have gone to great teams.

Big clubs generally have worse, lazy, scouting, so it's rare they pick out the right player - most good youngsters do not g to the top clubs.

Roma also bought Maicon, Jedvaj and Benatia. They just need a good striker instead of Osvaldo and they are all set.

Since money is not a big problem for them, and seems like they are gonna sell few players anyway, I would bring someone more proven.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has claimed that his club have a mammoth transfer budget of €124.5 million for new recruits.

The Serie A runners up have looked to strengthen their squad in order to mount a serious challenge for the Scudetto and be competitive in the Champions League.

The Partenopei supremo made the revelation after taking part in a Q&A session on social network Twitter.

The Stadio San Paolo outfit’s budget seems to have been bolstered after they sold Edinson Cavani to Paris Saint-Germain for over €60m.

“If we add that €64.5m to the €60m that we had in our budget already then we get €124.5m that Napoli will invest with diligence and experience,” he noted.

The club’s priority will be to replace Cavani, Serie A’s top scorer last year and De Laurentiis confirmed that negotiations with Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain and Leandro Damiao of Internacional are underway.

“It’s true, we are in negotiations with Higuain and Damiao,” he added.

He also confirmed that Raul Albiol, Real Madrid’s 27-year-old central defender has arrived in Naples.

“Raul Albiol is having his medical, let us hope that he passes it.”

They could potentially get Albiol, Higuain and Damiao and still have 50m to spend. laugh.gif

Napoli Interested In Wantaway Manchester United Star
Napoli are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

The 27-year-old is said to be ‘angry and confused’ amid reports he isn’t new manager David Moyes’ first choice striker, and as a result is looking to move from the Old Trafford club.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Rafael Benitez asked Partenopei presdient Aurelio De Laurentiis to make an offer for the England international, though it is thought he declined the request.

The Partenopei are looking to find an adequate replacement for the now departed Edinson Cavani, and have targeted Internacional’s Leandro Damiao, Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain and Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.

Chelsea, however, have presented an official offer to United for the striker, but it was later dismissed.

Rooney has made 400 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 197 goals.

Galliani has lost his mind, expecting him to make something as obvious as this happen would just be too much

He's just renewed with Robinho for 3 more years whit him earning around 3.5m for EACH of those 3 years.

He can't close a simple deal for a player who's out of contract in 6 months.

Next season we're going to be miles behind the rest of the other top clubs in the league

Rossoneri7
Serie A is looking more competitive this coming season. This should help raise the quality of the league collectively. It is a good thing that there are 6-7 teams strengthening to target a CL spot.

Just hope we get one of those 3 spots at season end.

I agree with everything except the last line. no matter what, we always seem to get that CL spot one way or another (more often than not by relying on the refs which is a shame). I'm not worried about top 3 right now because I can't imagine a worse start to the season than last season's, so as long as we keep up with the rest of the teams, we should be OK. a few dubious penalties here and there and they'll gift us 10-15 points if we need it to finish where Berlusconi wants.
Jack Sparrow
See han biggrin.gif I feel the same way as Zed. Top 3 is a genuine possibility and we have to play badly not to finish there. We won't finish outside of top 3 just coz our team isn't good enough.

servbot
I'm pretty confident that we won't do worse than this past year. We won't be challenging Juve by any means, but I wouldn't bet against making another CL spot. The "sky is falling" attitude may have been warranted after selling Ibra and Silva, but we haven't done anything like that this time around. (yet)

My point exactly. huh.gif Others have. Strootman, Gomez and an influx of more such players will only make things difficult for us. There are new contenders on the block. And while the presence of Balotelli provides hope, the presence of Allegri dashes it to itsy bitsy pieces.

If the third place was a reasonable assurance last season, it's unreasonably precarious this time around.

The most important of our transfer activity will most likely be after the preliminary CL phase. Allegri's fate is also tied to it. Once we are confirmed through and get CL money.

Those are good players, but no one coming in is nearly at the level of Ibra and Silva. Perhaps a big star will replace Cavani.

I don't have much faith in Allegri either, but we did get to 3rd last year after blowing up our team, and had the most points in the league in 2013 with largely a young, inexperienced squad. We may not have an influx of new signings, but the simple experience gained and a year of playing together should help improve our squad from last year, to a certain extent.

And of course I don't mean to say that I think it's all sunshine and rainbows for next season, but the level of doom and gloom I keep reading seems to be an over-exaggeration to me.
