I do like Dortmund, but at least their demise will get rid of the annoying fanboys over here.

England. They win the league and suddenly everyone acts like they've been fans of them for years, gloryhunting is annoying as ****.

Thiago Silva is out of reach, and Dante is better than Mandzukic, so not the best comparison in my opinion. Dante is one of the better defenders world wide nowadays.

Well, we disagree then.

Wow. Guardiola making a statement. ohmy.gif
Fillipo Simone
What statement?

By the way, it seems like Kroos is rather unhappy at Bayern and could make a summer move. He'd be perfect for Milan, but I suppose we don't have the money and he'll join United or some other club.
KillerMax
Some of those German players would really really be perfect for Milan.

Anyone remember Bierhoff? sleepysmiley03.gif
Fillipo Simone
Who wouldn't? He was a real goal machine, something that's quite rarely to find. And he'd add up some aerial strength, something Serie A immensely lacks. Just think of it - Llorente scored the most headers in Serie A this season: a total of 3.

The main reason I became a Milan fan.

Well, I started following football during France 98, even though I was only 9 back then. One of my best friends was a big Germany fan, and his favourite player was Bierhoff. So, I became a Germany fan as well, and after the World Cup we both took a liking to Milan because of Bierhoff. The rest is history... tongue.gif

Hmh, good origin story smile.gif

I see why quite a few people love the BUndesliga. It's because it's so competitive.

Better watch Dutch football then.

The referee better not watch a football field anymore.
Fillipo Simone
Referee? Seriously? Who cares about the ref, this is a great example of fair play, something rarely seen in modern football.

Oh, I didn't notice the player admitted he dived. Nice!
kurtsimonw
Why dive and then admit you did it. Why not, you know, just not cheat in the first place?
KillerMax
Maybe he tripped over himself? It's hard to tell with that short video and low res.
X-Offender
Yeah, sometimes diving or falling can be instinctive. Or maybe he just realized what a blatant dive it was and didn't want to create huge polemics after the match.
Fillipo Simone
He said it in an interview. He fell instinctively.

So he's basically admitting he's a natural diver. Fool.

It's unbelievable how you can turn something good into something bad. I've nothing more to say.

I'm sure I read somewhere before that some players actually practice it in training. I don't know if it was a serious article or not.

FC Augsburg. wub.gif You have my respect! For eternity!

Heh, just came here to post that. Obviously if there was someone who would beat me to it, that'd be acid. smile.gif

Haha, thanks, man.

I don't particularly dislike any of these clubs, nothing personal or anything. But I just want all big things to be leveled in one way or another. Always. smile.gif For the sake of the game, for the sake of everything else. Because winning continually isn't the problem, and besides records are meant to be broken.

But you have a club throwing away money and then steamrolling everything in path. Where's the fun in that? So for this reason, while I was all for Bayern winning the last year CL (and treble), I just want all three (Bayern, Madrid and Barcelona) to lose in Europe this year, and some other club taking the trophy. For change.

And well, when I heard the 1-0 final scoreline and Augsburg had beaten Bayern, I was ecstatic. Pure joy. For our invincible team, of course, but also for this small club teaching Bayern how it's done. happy.gif Then again, to be honest, I had a feeling that Bayern players had lost a little concentration after winning the league. Most teams do.

I had hopes that Dortmund would stop them in match 55, but then again, that was too close for comfort.
Fillipo Simone
Naah, I didn't feel anything. Bayern fielded not their second best but third and fourth option. Many of them debutantes from the junior department.

I'd be surprised if Augsburg didn't win this one. I get why people now dislike Bayern, I'm not especially fond of Guardiola myself, but IMO Bayern will never be in the same category as Madrid and especially not as Barcelona.
acid911
Nah, I get you. smile.gif And that is why I am delighted with the result, with the awareness that this was not the strongest Bayern side, far from it in fact. But I'll take it.

They won the treble. They literally destroyed the mighty Barça. They had a 53 undefeated games streak. That's more than enough to label them the strongest Bayern side, ever.

kurtsimonw
Not the strongest Bayern team ever, but.. Neuer, Alaba, Javi Martinez, Shaqiri, Gotze, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Mandzukic and Muller all playing decent amount of the game should have been enough for at least a draw.
Fillipo Simone
Well, unimportant anyway. They had to lose a game eventually.

Watched a re-run of the Final today. My only thoughts are, how small time is after goal music? It's something you see in League 2! And Thomas Muller needs to go to celebration school, it's almost embarrassing watching him after he scores. biggrin.gif

Yeah, and? How's that embarrassing? Is there some kind of norm or standard when it comes to celebrating? Come on now, Kurt...
Jack Sparrow
Yep. The standard for celebration is for solo - the Balo pose in the Euros. For group, the Norwegian fishing celebration. Nothing less will do.
