*

I'm from England, very anti Argentina actually. wink.gif

In my opinion before about 80 or so, there were only two real teams in International football, Brazil and Germany. Those were the only teams that had a team full of decent guys, other teams, like England, had one or two star players with a pretty average supporting cast. (Notice how all but one World Cup between '54 and '74 was won by neither of those).

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I thought International football as a whole was awful before 78/80 teams like the Ivory Coast would get beaten by 7 or 8 clear goals on a regular basis, now look at them.

I only rate players from a long time ago if they proved themself in a European league. As much as I hate to say this, if I had to pick the greatest player ever, Gerd Muller is the guy. He was more prolific than Pele at International level and had an outstanding record for Bayern Munich. Pele has nothing on him. wink.gif

Emerson is a cunto, a old one. And Cassano is worst than the brazillian one.

I'd rather have those two since they're proven to be good players in Italy. Baptista has proven he can only play in one league so far, I wasn't impressed with his Madrid performances that much either.

To me he'll just be a gamble following Javi Moreno/Oliveira. His international record (Pre-Copa) was awful, too. I am a Sevilla fan so I know how good he was there, but so was Reyes and he flopped at Arsenal, it's not a one off.

I've said this before that I won't give Inter such credit just because they have won a mediocre Serie A! (have you forgotten how they performed in CL?! how they were humiliated by Bayern in San Siro?! how they couldn't even beat Valencia in two games?!)

Inter aren't that bad in the CL. I'd certainly feel safer putting money on them, rather than us, that's for sure.

^^^^

9 years being a rossoneri. I'm a kid compared to some of these stalwarts on the forum, but kurt lemme tell you intermania comes and goes. Inter have NEVER EVER wanted for a team having quality. It was always something else. They would just never win.

Milan...now Milan is something else. It's not just about the cups or the trophies. Read 100 reasons to be a milanista. It's pinned somewhere on the forum. One of the best pieces ever. I read it the night of Istanbul, and I read it before the Bayern match. Helps you keep things in perspective.

Wait, you're a Villain...emmm...go ogle a poster of Laursen then. tongue.gif
kurtsimonw
Did you know Milan have won more trophies in the last 18 years than the rest of their history? I think it's a bit silly to say Inter never win anything, because before the late 80s, neither did we.

Just because Inter's trophies came along time ago, it makes no difference. I always hear Milan fans say "You haven't won anything for ages, we've won loads of European Cups, etc." It makes no difference. Whether you won the European Cup in 1955 or 2005 it counts as one. Being more recent makes no difference, what's the point in ever winning a trophy if it's 'too old to count' 20 years later?

But about what you said. I have read it, and it's fantastic. But every team has those great nights. Whether it's United beating Bayern in the most dramtic game of all-time. Burton Albion holding on against United for a replay in the FA Cup. Every team has their great nights, just maybe not on such a grand stage as Milan.

They'll win the CL again soon enough, and by 2012 they'll have more league titles. We can't live on having more European Cups than them forever. tongue.gif
