Capable yes, but he isn't tested and it's his first season in the CL. So it's highly unlike he'll get past the next round.

Indeed.

Let's just hope they knock out either Bayern or Madrid next.

Most even 3-0 I've ever seen, it was far from the vintage United performance I'm seeing branded about.

Disappointing, in a way. I expect Atletico, Dortmund and United to be easily defeated. Even PSG-Chelsea looks too much one-sided.

Just thinking about the draw and how this year could be the year of Real Madrid.
It's so frustrating to see this kind of stability with clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern (to an extent). One couldn't think the Madridista fans would allow Real to stay trophy-less for seasons. It's quite unthinkable - especially in the case of Real Madrid. Their history, ambition and hunger combined with the constant pressure of fans is mostly irritating; I liked the old Milan way, it was a more human approach. But now I realize the benefits of this pragmatic approach: the downfall Milan has with Galliani and Berlusconi would have never happened in Madrid - with this established marketing structure and fans-network - not even with the crisis of Italian football in general.

All 3 clubs throw more money around on bench players than most clubs do on starters though.

Bayern not so much (or at least on a different level and not constantly) - the others yes. But that's their way of ensuring a continuity in quality.

I don't know, they've got a net spend of around £100m or so in the past 18 months.

I actually think out of all of the 'big' teams Bayern is the one United could upset too. On the other hand it could be a capitulation, & to be fair it's Moyes so probably safer to bank on the latter.

PSG - Chelsea seems like the most interesting and even clash (at least on paper). I Have a hunch the frogs will go through.
Not a good year for Dortmund:

(their line-up last year compared to those who available for Real).

Really torn about the PSG-Chelsea tie. Would like Ibra to get a CL winners medal, same for Cavani and Lavezzi. But I not only do I like Mourinho, but the fact people get so upset about him for no reason makes him a double +.

At 1-0 and around the time veratti was subbed i was thinking mourinho is doing it the italian way. Reminded me of the inzaghi goal against ajax ... when ba put it in, i had relapses of the sensation inzaghi gave at that time.

Chelsea attacked like a pack of wolves, great display. also Cech's last minute save is worth mentioning as it decided who went through. it could easily have been PSG.
PSG are like Chelsea 5 years ago. their time will come with the right manager.
Also, Cavani is a but overrated. he's very very good but a great player shouldn't miss chances like he did. just look at Reus...
