Well they were missing Maicon today, which is a big loss. What's the chance that he'll be going to Real? Is there still a possibility of that happening? They said he wasn't called up today because talks were still ongoing.
Him leaving would really tip the scales in our favour, not to mention the trojan horse sent by the dear Scousers in the form of Rafa

I mean what was he thinking taking off Milito? If anyone is going to score you a last minute goal it's him. And Coutinho for Pandev? That kid looked so out of his depth it was ridiculous! And if he's their answer to Pato then I'm the Prince of Persia

Agreed. Him taking off Pandev for Coutinho was an asinine thing to do. And Milito was having a nightmare of a match, but like you said, if there's anyone who could score you a last minute winner, it's him.

It was that serial goal scorer, Milito.

He opened the scoring in the 22 minute, Bologna equalized the very next minute. The other two chipped in later to finish off the match.

Like Jack is saying Zanetti did comment first, and we all know Zlatan will not keep his mouth shut. It's not like the Inter players had a problem with him joining them from Juve and practically leading them to 2 back-to-back titles

It's the changing of the winds, folks. I like it.

inter are back to being what they were before the scandal, they got a pathetic coach (as Han put it), and even worse transfer market. The players are old by an year, Mourinho is gone, most of their players have won almost all there is to win (so the drive just isn't there). And now these classless acts, reminds me of the inter of old.
In other words, things are back to normal. For a few years the Milan management started acting like inter (bad signings, bad results in the league and CL) of early 2000s. Trust me, I've been to a few inter forums, and they fear the worst.

The storm has passed, and sun is coming out as far as all things AC Milan are concerned, so sit back, buckle up, and enjoy the ride. Good times are here to stay!!!

Jack put it right, and besides I said winds of change.

It may take a couple of years for us to be back to our best, and likewise for inter to fall (they may not fall anyway, and may still be a force). But things are changing in the right direction, and that is reason enough to be happy about.

Imo Inter lost their most important esset. Mourinho.
But I do think that the team they currently have is too great for Rafa to f up, at least not for another few years, when he starts messing with everything from the staff to the players. His rotation policy is ridiculous though, so I'm hopeful this season that they will slip up more then last, and last season was far from perfect, they almost allowed us to overtake them at one point but we were not good enough to capitalise on their mistakes and neither were Roma.

Aug 31 2010, 01:58 PM
Exactly, Rafa is a terribly hyped up coach.

And if inter are stupid enough to let him continue and paint the team in his image, and get ready for some fun time. Most of my inter fans feared the worst when they were linked with this guy, and while it is too soon to tell, my hunch feeling is that Rafa will fudge things up at his new club. It's just a matter of time.

Players' strike brings Serie A to a halt The Italian Footballers' Association has announced its decision to strike on the weekend commencing September 25, bringing Serie A to a grinding halt.
The AIC is protesting at the renewal of Serie A's collective-bargaining agreement.
Milan full-back Massimo Oddo read out the following statement: “The AIC, in accordance with the teams in Serie A, has decided that they will not take to the pitch on the 5th round of the season on September 25 and 26 in protest at the introduction of the new contractual regime.”
The highest profile match to be effected will be that between Roma and Inter.
When asked to explain the decision, Oddo said: “The players are fed up with being treated like objects and not like people.
“We are dealing with human rights here,” he concluded.
Football Italia Funny how it's Oddo making such a statement. He fails to mention how players like him won't move to keep leaching off their clubs getting paid money they don't deserve

Benitez recalls lessons of Istanbul
Inter boss Rafa Benitez has already started playing mind games with Milan by saying that they were favourites in Istanbul five years ago.
Milan are being tipped to win the Scudetto after signing Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the final week of the transfer window.
Benitez famously managed Liverpool to an astonishing comeback over Milan in the 2005 Champions League Final in Istanbul.
When asked if he considers Milan favourites, Benitez said: “They also said it in Istanbul when I faced the Rossoneri with Liverpool.
“They said it until the end of the first half of that game, then something changed.”
Benitez then turned his attention to Inter's lacklustre transfer campaign.
“We waited to see if it was possible to sign some players, then I spoke with President Moratti and Marco Branca, and we know what we have done and what we must do.
“President Moratti has made financial sacrifices for many years straight and if for this reason he decided to stop, then he has his reasons.
“This team is strong. It has quality. We must recover the mentality we have last year. We can win everything with the right mentality.”

His team won because of some unbelievable luck, a Gerrard dive, and a referee not noticing an offside flag before one of the goals occured, not because he's a tactical mastermind

If anyone is the favourite for the Scudetto it's Inter, thankfully for us, they lost Mourinho and got Mr. Potato head instead.
I didn't see him gloathing in Athens when he was complaining to the ref about the time added on as an excuse for his team's failure

And I certainly never saw him do Liverpool any good in the league

He wins by a country mile imo.
He rode a CL glory for all it was worth, until he ran Liverpool into the ground, and he's still riding all that glory, all the way to Inter. Luckily for us, they are our biggest competitors for the title

Mourinho was shocking his first campaign as well. He was just lucky that the teams competing with him were even more shocking.
His second spell he got the players he wanted and built his team around 3 players. Cesar, Lucio and Samuel. Then they won it all.
Benitez is the exact same prototype coach as mourinho. Defensive, slow build up etc etc.
Now all he has to do for the team to be competitive is get the mental aspect right and inter are back. In all other regards he still has a world class team that suits his style. Maybe he could have used a better winger than Eto but its still not bad.
Lets not judge him early

disagree. Sure those players played a huge role in winning matches but I think the great wall of south america was what he built his team on.
Most of his games were based on a risky defensive strategy that depended on the performances of the keeper and 2 cb. He won all his big games by defending like a machine.

Inter's always had a great defense in the last few years. If not, I'd say this year they managed to concede more than in the past. Lucio became good only in the second part of the season and Julio Cesar had probably his worst year at Inter. Mourinho realized that by playing a balanced line-up (4-3-1-2) Inter would have never gone far in the Champions League, that's why he put everything on his forwards and changed tactics to a risky 4-2-1-3. Attack is the best defense they say.
