4-1 bit optimistic I think.
Might turn off, getting f all from the home ref and look horrible at the back.

Looked pretty ominous for your guys. Saw the 1st half and City looked quite decent.
The starting XI was never really going to trouble City though.
As for Arsenal, it seems Bendtner has found his level

United next up in the cup.

Silva is some player. Could get into the Barca side based on what I've seen of him lately, incredible touch and vision.

Indeed. he's my dream Pirlo replacement.

Mar 3 2011, 12:40 PM
Really? But they are entirely different players! One of the reasons why I like Xavi and Pirlo is that the role they perform is unique in their teams.
I think only Schweinsteiger and Xabi Alonso comes close in football to the roles these two play.
Zed.D

I've always thought of Silva as a similar player to Pirlo. sure, Andy plays in a deeper position, but their vision, accuracy of passing, technique, etc. look really similar.

Alonso? yes please. Schweinsteiger, no thanks, poor mans Boateng. Played well in the WC but he to me is a bit hyped up by his home nation, just as Rooney is over here because he's like their golden boy nowadays.

I like Schweinsteiger don't get me wrong but to me he is no where near the level of Alonso. I would probably put Alonso in my team above Fabregas in all honesty. This isn't because he plays for Madrid as oppose to Barca, I have just genuinely thought he was world class for years.

I have no idea what we are going to do today. Young, Dunne, Collins, Cuellar and Baker all injured I think, Lichaj out on loan and Warnock is about as popular with everyone at Villa as Robbie Savage. That leaves Ciaran Clark.
We'll have to play a 1-5-4.

We're now 2-1 up. But Jesus Christ when is this luck of ours going to start? How many cleared off the line today? Off the woodwork? Now we've had a penalty saved.
When our luck even itself out we'll win the title next season.

**** me. I did predict we'd conceed the equaliser in the last minute, we'll probably lose it in the last minute now. Fucking joke.

They were back last weekend when we were not given 2 blatent penalties. Or mid-week when Balo assaulted Herd and got away with a yellow card.
We've had about 2 games where we've had luck this season, that's it. And one of those we lost!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Unacceptable.
Story of our season pretty much summed up in this game.
*Take the lead.
*Run rings around the opposition, create enough chances to be 3 up.
*Decide to sit back after we fail get a 2nd and conceed late in the 1st half.
*The referee forgets his job and either fails to give us a blatent penalty or a blatent red card to an opposition player.
*We then shoot ourselves in the foot by missing a penalty or getting a player sent off.
*Give away a late corner or free kick and conceed to lose.
This seasons Villa are the worst team I have ever seen defending set peices, it makes me wonder what we do in training. They just stand there and look at each other. Zonal marking doesn't make sense, it just gives nobody responsibility, nobody knows what they're meant to do and gives the other team an instant advantage. Fan of GH, but he has to sort the defending out, it's not acceptable.
Just seent GHs postgame. Not like him to criticise a referee, says it all. Not seen that emotional and pissed off before either. Got to sort this defending out, I'd be ashamed if a team I was in defended like that, but for an EPL team..

Think he's swapped with Attwell. Who is actually having an ok game, I mean he's done nothing exceptional. You'd have to be a moron to not realise the bookings given and he played an advantage a few times. That's an excellent game for Attwell!!

Rumour doing the rounds here that Birmingham might be banned from Europe next season do to their horrible financial situation. The funniest thing of all is that them winning the Cup is probably the worst thing that could have happened to them as it triggered off a tonne of player bonuses. They actually have to pay out more than they got for winning it!

Of all the horrible mistakes the ref made yesterday,
this one was by FAR the worst.I mean come on, it doesn't even
look like offside!
EDIT: and before anyone starts making snide comments about making excuses for not winning the league because we're simply not good enough, well, losing two points like this doesn't exactly help, does it?

Mar 6 2011, 11:47 AM
There's a better picture going round from a different angle that makes the offside decision look even worse. From that angle it doesn't look as bad - even though he's clearly on.
Alot of clubs complaining about the refereeing of late. Funny that, I've been saying it since week 1 and it was dismissed as 'making excuses' (despite the fact we won 3-0 that week!0.

Liverpool-United KO at 1:30. Win would be huge for United, a draw wouldn't be bad given the Arsenal result. A loss would be terrible given they lost midweek too.
Oh and someone on the Villa forum slagging off Bent already.

He's scored 3 in 7 so far which is good, not only that but we've had 3 penalties since he's been at he club and he hasn't taken any. If he'd have taken penalties he'd like have 6 in 7. Some 'supporters' are ridiculous, we're averaging nearly 2 a game with him in the side as well! It could be worse, we could have signed Torres, Suarez or Carroll for far more money, each of which have done F all.

Last night in Juve-Milan the linesman made a far worse mistake that cost us a goal. Seedorf was like 1 meter onside. this one, if you look at it from a non-Arsenal fan point of view, is a very close one. mistake, yes, but it's not true that it doesn't even look like offside. I mean, come on, the two players are level.
