Well, I really can't understand how someone can complain after a 5-0 result.
Milan Are Brilliant
English NT is just so depressing, even when we win it's all doom & gloom.

I miss the late 90's, when we seemed to all actually get behind our team.

Nah, it's the public too, the amount of people who are like 'I don't care anymore' 'Whats the point?' and almost take pride in England losing just to say 'Told you so' probably outweigh the people who still want us to do well now.

No.

My annoyance is aimed at listening to the radio on the way home. The host was actually defending the team saying "How can you be complaining. 5-0 is 5-0 whether you play Brazil or San Marino. Scoring more doesn't get you bonus points, neither does playing well".

I think people don't watch the game though, they were saying that our players have no technical ability and can't pass the ball 5 yards. Considering our pass success was over 91% and our possession over 85% that's clearly a load of rubbish. Some of the passing between Rooney, Chamberlain and Wellbeck was pretty amazing to, first time passes and flicks in a 5 yard area while surrounded by 7 or 8 San Marino players isn't bad.

The funniest bit "England will never win anything in my lifetime" said by a 50 year old guy. We won the World Cup in your lifetime you retard! How can he possibly know how football will go in the next decade or 2? Up until 2006 Spain had only ever even made 3 SF appearances in their history which is pretty ****.

Most the fans are fine, it's just the vocal minority of people who will complain after every game who always have to make their point over and over though. I swear, these people would be happier if we played well and beat San Mairno 8-0 than if we played **** and won the World Cup Final 1-0.
kurtsimonw
LOL @ Poland.

They have a roofed stadium. They left it open because Poland didn't want it closed, now the ref says it's not playable due to rainful.

EDIT: Refs say if it's not playable by 9pm Local/8pm GMT then it's off. Nice job Poland. Hope we smash them now, ametuer. If I were England fans I'd sue for compensation.

San Siro almost empty for a NT game...
kurtsimonw
Montolivo 1-0.
Fillipo Simone
Germany trashing Ibra's Sweden 3-0 at half time.
kurtsimonw
4-3 now. blink.gif
kurtsimonw
ELM! 4-4! HAHAHA.
Fillipo Simone
That goal had to be disallowed. Blatant foul. But anyway, Germany really needs a good defender.
kurtsimonw
Yep. It's rare you can succeed without a good defense and that's what's stopped them winning anything for the past 15 years or so in my opinion.
X-Offender
How the hell did that happen? And Germany were playing at home. Incredible.

In other news, Albania 1-0 Slovenia. If we had won against Iceland 4 days ago, we'd be one point shy of first place. Such a waste.
kurtsimonw
Giroud scores in last minute also. Spain 1-1 France. Even better since Fabregas missed a penalty at 1-0. biggrin.gif
Fillipo Simone
Pirlo with 2 more assists and the captains armband for Italy. Man I miss the days when Milan had something to say in the NT as well. Don't get me wrong, nice goal by Monto. But after decades of backbone players like Franco, Mauro, Paolo, Billy, Demetrio, Rino, Andrea, Sandro...it's just sad to realize the torch finally went out.
Zed.D
Hopefully we'll have more say in the azzurri with the likes of DS and El Sha breaking through. hell, even Balotelli when we sign him biggrin.gif might as well sign that Verratti kid and make him the new midfield maestro of Italy. OK, enough dreaming... dry.gif

Just saw the highlights of Germany-Sweden. Boy, what a game! Germany have an amazing attack/midfield, but their defense sucks balls big time. Badstuber, Mertesacker and Boateng, they're just bad.

The thing is, there ain't many alternatives - and I watch the Bundesliga regularly. Westermann, Höwedes, Aogo, Wollscheid - all not so tempting. Whatever happened to great defenders these days one has to ask himself.
KillerMax
The greatest defender on Earth is a Brazilian. Go figure.

Hummels is pretty good, though.
kurtsimonw
Deservedd equaliser. England have been all kinds of awful today. Joe Hart has to get to that.
Milan Are Brilliant
It's why I still think he's some way off the best. Until he learns to deal with crosses I will think that, he's a great shot stopper but he has to get better with crosses.
kurtsimonw
Wish Roy wouldn't try and fit as many United players into the side as he could. Cleverley and Carrick are shite.

indeed..why did he take off rooney?
Milan Are Brilliant
One of them will go when Wilshere finally returns. My bet is Carrick, at least Cleverley still has potential, Carrick is just a dying cause.

Is Parker injured? I quite warmed to him and he's seemingly disappeared this season.
kurtsimonw
I'll happily take that. We well and truly robbed Poland tonight.

Yeah he is can't remember what with but he's struggled all season with fitness.

Cheer up, it could be worse. Portugal (in a home game) couldn't beat Northern Ireland biggrin.gif
kurtsimonw
Todays result is about our level.

We're a 2nd tier team and as such can not expect to go to 3rd tier teams and win. It should be about a 50:50 split between wins:draws with us winning most home games with the odd draw against them. A draw is acceptable, in fact it's welcome based on todays performance.

What's going on with Wilshere? How long has it been since the last time he played?

Since 2011–12 preseason, over a year ago. But he already played for the reservers, should return shortly.
kurtsimonw
Will be a while before he's back at his best and in the England picture again I would think. He, Parker and Lampard made an excellent midfield 3 a few years back.

Hummels is pretty good, though.

For Dortmund. But Löw still does not have faith in him; his last few appearances for Germany weren't exactly good.
kurtsimonw
Who's the Schalke centre back? I always hear a lot about him but I don't recall seeing him in the team.

Höwedes. Also pretty much unused. Löw prefers Boateng, Badstuber and Mertesacker. Hopefully this will help him reconsider.

Cesare Prandelli has named his starting XI for Italy’s friendly with France, a 4-3-3 including Marco Verratti, Mario Balotelli and Stephan El Shaarawy.

It had already been reported that the Coach was going to adopt the system for tomorrow evening’s game at the Stadio Tardini in Parma.

Prandelli rattled off this list of players: Sirigu; Maggio, Chiellini, Barzagli, Balzaretti; Montolivo, Verratti, Marchisio, Candreva, Balotelli, El Shaarawy.

“El Shaarawy will play in the position he already uses at Milan, Balotelli will be the centre-forward and Candreva plays on the right.

“I will ask the attacking players to flood the area and seek depth in going for the goal. El Shaarawy and Antonio Candreva have very attacking characteristics and the midfield must work to support them.

“The internal midfielders must not just bring balance, but also participate in the attack and go for goal.

“In terms of possession, as we do not have a fourth midfielder then we will have to keep the ball less and surge forward more, while without the ball we need to repeat the same attitude we had in recent outings.”

It is a special game for Verratti and Salvatore Sirigu, who both play in France with Paris Saint-Germain.

“I expect Verratti to grow in terms of character. He is gaining experience, but mustn’t feel too much pressure on his shoulders. He needs to do his job without thinking about over-doing it.”

The Coach also called up Newcastle United full-back Davide Santon and Roma’s Under-21 international midfielder Alessandro Florenzi.

“We want to play a ‘real’ game, so these lads will only be introduced later on in the day. As for Balotelli, I expect to see the same effort he put in against Denmark.

“France are a great team who want to win this, even if it is a friendly, so we must not lower our guard. We want to give the fans emotions and a spectacle,” pointed out Prandelli in his Press conference.

“I am intrigued to see the character of these lads. France are renewing their squad and showed against Spain that they have become more versatile, practical and balanced. They are a very attacking team who try to make the most of width.”

Italy line-up:Sirigu; Maggio, Chiellini, Barzagli, Balzaretti; Montolivo, Verratti, Marchisio, Candreva, Balotelli, El Shaarawy

Candreva? LOL. I'd play Giovinco.
