Anyway, I don't see any big deal about it. Some players just don't have as much going on right now out of the ordinary that in turn allows us to strike up a conversation. For instance, the Kalac thread was pretty active after he took over the #1 spot (grr) last season. Nowadays, just a few birthday greetings and that's it.
Another reason could be that most of the player talk I've seen has mainly been in the match threads.

There is a layer of cloth which has the red black stripes (bear with me here) then another layer which is semi permiable and has the logo, adidas sign etc
I just thought i should share that fascinating piece of information with everyone

I don't mind them saying Great Champion as long as they use it in the past tense. None of our players are great Champions, they've won nothing.
From now until he retires, I would never bet against SuperPippo scoring at crucial moments. He is our saviour, no one can deny that.

No, but I never said that. These players may have been great Champions, but they certainly aren't at the moment.
I don't think in this instance champion is being used to connect to a trophy.

Well I am wrong in the way I worded it, yes. What I meant to say is they won nothing last year, therefore I don't think calling them Champions is a correct thing to say.

I'd be willing to bet it's not a big contract. My sense of things is that Pippo only cares about breaking Gerd Muller's record -- and so only really wants to play in the European games. I don't have a problem with one more year for him.
