1 year extension for Pippo.

I wonder how much he is gonna earn, surely waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less than 4 mio... else I would be pissed.
Zed.D
Not a bad move IMO as long as the likes of Kaladze and Janku are shown the exit door. but this will surely be Pippo's last season with us right? unsure.gif

Don't forget Oddo! He's the only Milan player I hate with a passion.
Bluesummers
Galliani needs to be fired. This is just redicilous. He wants dinho to take a pay cut as getting 8m is too much for playing 30 games+ and being our best player on the pitch in the majority of those games but has no problem giving a has been 39 year old another 4m so he can sit his a$$ on the bench and score 3 goals a season.

Million a goal, inzaghi sure has done well for himself rolleyes.gif

Now people watch and see how this 4m is going to be the difference between an impact signing we coudl have made or another useless veteran.

God bless you Galliani smile.gif
X-Offender
How do you know his wage is still 4m though?
Bluesummers
Oh its pretty obvious isn't it? He's been getting the same wage he's been getting for years. If he would have gotten a pay cut, I guarantee galliani would have come out and jizzed himself over it. Like how maldini and beckham and gattuso took a pay cut.
X-Offender
Good point. What a waste, Galliani really is incompetent.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PIPPO

Monday 9 August, Pippo Inzaghi will celebrate his birthday. Not only an important moment for him and his family, but also for all Milan fans, who he helped celebrate in a magical way four years ago...

MILAN - Mister Athens can't wait for the weekend's training to draw to a conclusion so that he can start his birthday preparations in style, beacuse Superpippo's birthday is never a dull occasion.

August 9, 2006, a Wednesday, 70.000 Rossoneri fans inside the San Siro witnessed Pippo Inzaghi set Milan off on their march towards Athens. That birthday goal was what he and the fans asked for, and it came in front of the Curva Sud. 1-0 to Milan against Red Star Belgrade and off they set for the Greek capital.

This Monday he'll turn 37 in the company of his mother Marina, father Giancarlo, Alessia Ventura, his brother Simone and his adored nephew Tommaso.

Let the weekend begin that will lead to Superpippo's birthday. Still and forever Rossonero.

Pippo Inzaghi believes he can again be a key figure for Milan after Massimiliano Allegri replaced Leonardo at San Siro.

Inzaghi struggled for regular first team opportunities under the Brazilian last term, but he’s ready to once more bang in the goals for the Rossoneri.

“I wasn’t really considered last season, but that is water under the bridge,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport 24 today as he celebrated his 37th birthday.

“Now I want to become an important player for the team again. I’m very calm and I want to give my contribution.

“Allegri has brought with him some fresh enthusiasm. We may need a little luck, but I’m optimistic for the season ahead.

“I think we have everything that we need to do well.”

Inzaghi also insisted that Ronaldinho, who continues to be linked with moves away from San Siro, could have a campaign to remember.

“I see that he’s very serene,” added the 2006 World Cup winner. “He’s eager to do well and I’m convinced that he wants to be a protagonist for Milan.”

Does anyone here got the official numbers of european goals made by Inzaghi? Different sources claim different things. The one says that Muller and Inzaghi are on the same amount of goals (68). Others say that Pippo needs one more to stand next to Muller (pippo 68, Muller 69)
I think the last one is correct.

Meanwhile, Max Allegri has told Pippo Inzaghi to calm down after he left San Siro in a huff last night.

Super Pippo had hoped to get the chance to equal Gerd Muller’s goalscoring record in Europe, but when Allegri brought on Ignazio Abate for Luca Antonio 20 minutes from the end, the striker stormed off to the dressing room.

“Pippo must be calm because there are many games still to play,” Allegri said. “It’s right that he’s angry also because I prefer him to react this way.

“If you’re happy to stay on the bench it means that you have nothing left to give.”

Deviating a little from hating Ibra,I think Pipo is just being selfish.I mean antonini was injured, did he expect allegri to put him at Lb or change the whole formation for him.

Inzaghi was a special guest of Controcampo last night. He said he'll give Allegri two months of time, and if he's still being relegated in the bench by then, he could look out for new options. He also revealed this summer he had offers from Parma and Napoli.
Fillipo Simone
I couldn't describe the feelings I'd had seeing Pippo in another shirt.

Allegri is messing things up. He's pressuring Ibra too much, it's like he wants him to become the new Kaka, meaning a Ibra-dependent Milan. He's completely reduced Flamini's role to zero even after good performances, he's stubborn and tactically unprepared,..ahhhh....please, let this guy go, and give us a proper coach.

Galliani says Inzaghi is staying

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani hopes to keep Pippo Inzaghi even though he is disgruntled at a lack of playing time this season.

The 37-year-old scored a brace against Real Madrid in midweek, but didn\'t start away to Bari on Sunday.

“I have already told Pippo: \'You have been after a contract renewal for a year and now there is no chance that I am letting you leave\'. He will stay with us,” Galliani revealed.

When asked to reflect on the 3-2 win over Bari, he said: “We did well, scoring three goals and wasting other chances.

“Allegri left out Ronaldinho and Pato at the beginning but the fact that he adopted this solution means that he doesn\'t lack courage.

“He is playing those who are most in form and when a bench is as rich as ours…”

That's just immature. Who does he think he is, Brett Favre?

Therefore, it only makes perfect sense that Galliani wants him to stay another season. Let's feed his ego even further.

But what separates Inzaghi from the other poachers is his reputation as a man for the big occasion, which was rendered indelible in 2007 when despite being “half dead” according to Carlo Ancelotti in his autobiography, he still managed to score five goals in the Finals of the Champions League, Club World Cup and European Super Cup.

It was with that in mind that Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho chose to ignore Milan’s other high profile attacking players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robinho, Alexandre Pato and Ronaldinho in the build up to this month’s eagerly anticipated pair of Champions League matches between the two sides, even though Inzaghi had played just 170 minutes this season until Wednesday night’s encounter.

“I’d just prefer it if Pippo didn’t play,” he smiled knowingly, and of course in doing so, the Special One only served to add to his mystique, making himself look even more prophetic in the eyes of the Italian media who miss him so very dearly.

Yet Mourinho wasn’t clairvoyant in his prediction, merely appreciative of history. We shouldn’t forget that Inzaghi has averaged just over 17 goals a season throughout his entire career, a staggering feat of consistency in the modern game.

and more importantly

QUOTE
“The truth is that Inzaghi is still a boy… a boy in his head,” Franco Baresi laughed after last night’s match. That attitude perhaps goes some way to explaining why hungry hungry Pippo shows no sign of losing his appetite.

His record speaks for its self critize him all you want but i didn't see anyone else score against Madrid...........

You are too harsh on him. That frustration is comes from unbelievable hunger for goals that made him such a great legend that he is. The guy is 37 years old, won everything there is and have enough money for a lifetime but still hungry like a 18 y.o kid.

Apparently Pippo has ruptured his cruciate ligament which means his season is finished:

QUOTE
Season over for Inzaghi

The season is over for Pippo Inzaghi after damaging knee ligaments, while Alexandre Pato will miss games against Inter and Fiorentina.

Milan were celebrating the leadership of Serie A and their 3-1 victory over Palermo last night, but it came at a heavy price.

“AC Milan announce that the player Filippo Inzaghi underwent tests this morning which confirmed the lesion of the anterior cruciate ligament and associated lesion to the external meniscus of the left knee,” read a statement.

“After a specialist consultation with Dr Piero Volpi, a surgical intervention was advised.”

This means the season is effectively over for Inzaghi and it remains to be seen if he can ever play again, as the striker is already 37 years old.

Pato limped off during the same match with a minor thigh strain, but it is still enough to rule him out of matches against Inter on Sunday and Fiorentina on November 20.

He will also miss out on Brazil’s friendly against Argentina on November 17.

han2503
Since you mentioned it Zeddie, question now is, will Galliani renew his contract?

A lot of contracts will be up come summer and imo only Nesta's and Pirlo's should be renewed.

Seedorf out, Honda in (Just for my friend Chu biggrin.gif )
Dinho out, new AM in
Janku out, new LB in
Abbiati out, make Amelia's deal permanent, look for a 2nd keeper
Take over the rest of Boateng's contract
Make Ibra's deal permanent
Pippo, whether he stays or goes, I'd bring Palo back

Well all are obvious problems we currently have... The AM position is a big one currently. but seeing yesterday's performance against Palermo, I'm 100% convinced that we can make it work if the midfield 3 is the proper combination.

Seedorf and Dinho will be more then ok for the smaller games, Pirlo for the big games where it's a really high tempo game. Basically:

Big game:

Ambro
Flamini--Boateng
Pirlo

Small game:

Flamini--Pirlo--Ambro
Dinho/See

Rotation against a small team or Coppa game:

Rino--Boateng--Seedorf
Dinho
