I cant believe this !
Pippo is one of the most gifted and most profilic players in Europe .. Phasing out of the game like that. But He has been down this road many times .. Had he not been injured often in his career, he might have double the stats he has now, without exceptions. He will come back and score more goals in those famous Champions League outings.
Sure he is 37 and will be 38 come next season .. Yet I am assured by the fact that whever he comes back from a long lay-off he explodes like a 23 year old. He isnt getting any younger, but he has that certain flair about him. He is truely something special and ages like wine.
Get well soon Super Pippo

This sucks, but Pippo is a fighter. He'll come back, I have no doubt about that. He won't finish his career like that.

Inzaghi: 'It's not the end
Pippo Inzaghi will be out for six months after knee surgery, but the 37-year-old insists: “I will do everything to ensure this is not the end.”
The Milan star sustained ligament damage during last night’s 3-1 win over Palermo and will require an operation, ruling him out for the rest of the season.
“Life and football are like this. One minute you’re playing and fighting, the next you’re clutching your knee in your hands,” he wrote on the official club website.
“A minute after that you are looking around you. What I saw around me was all of you. Thank you.
“I have been moved by all of you, the club, the Coach, my teammates and fans. I look to you and in turn you embrace me.”
There are fears the 37-year-old might not be able to play professional football again after such a serious injury at his age.
“Deep down in your hearts you all know, as do I, that it will be difficult, but I won’t give up. I will do everything, believe me, to ensure this is not the end.
“I will do that in part thanks to your strength and energy.”
The knee specialist who will perform the surgery also agreed Inzaghi could recover to play again.
“The recovery time is around five to six months, so we can safely say the season is over,” Dr Piero Volpi told MilanNews.it.
“With the right surgery and a good plan of recovery, Inzaghi will be available to start the next competitive campaign.
“His age will have absolutely no bearing on the matter. I found the player to be perfectly healthy in every other respect so, save for complications, he should respect the recovery timetable.”

The result of the medical exam carried out this afternoon is tough to swallow, but it can’t mean the end of Filippo Inzaghi’s career. No way. Go Pippo!!! You’ll be back! Like always before.
It can’t be the end and it won’t be the end. Pippo is in our hearts, as much as we are in his, We Milanisti, we sports lovers. Because it was for his beloved sport that Filippo Inzaghi often denied the laws of nature.
The memories of the recent Milan-Real Madrid match are so vivid, that it’s hard to believe that the match against Palermo can be his last game this season. But it can’t be the last of his career. A career, the career of Filippo Inzaghi, that commands respect and admiration.
In these moments all Milan supporters are worried, but we know that you’ll be back. A man like you won’t give up, it wouldn't be worthy of you.
Inzaghi doesn’t surrender. Forza Pippo and Forza Milan! The difficulties of these hours will give us strength for the whole season. Exactly like you’ve taught us: we are not afraid. And most of all, see you soon, Champion!
FORZA PIPPO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a LONG "fan letter" page devoted to Pippo on milannews.it.
LinkNow, I like Pippo and all, but it's pretty sad, actually. He hurt his knee playing football and not by storming the beach at Normandy. I don't remember any other Milan player getting this kind of reaction after suffering an injury of this magnitude that kept them on the shelf for awhile.

Pippo deserves all the attention from Milan fans more than any other player because he's given A LOT to this team, and vice versa. The bond between Pippo and the rossoneri people is unique. Some of you probably haven't noticed this.

I think a lot of it has to do with how much effort he gives, even at a time in his career when most players would try half as much. It is a bit foolish to say, without knowing the thoughts of players, that he loves the game and the club more than other players, but it certainly has the appearance of that because of his exuberance. I've only seen Pippo play for a year-plus now, and never in his prime, and I love him already.

Couldn't agree more.
The way Pippo played this season, the way he got involved with the squad, his visiting after the injury and the fact that the victory against Inter was dedicated to him - shows Pippo outgrew his role as a regular player and this season he became the sole of the team.

its Co ownership so basically at the end of the season we put in 6mil in the pot they put in 2mil so its a gamble in that area i mean if we put in 6mil and they put in nothing we have to pay them 6mil so its hard to say how much we will get him for but it shouldnt be more then 6mil Parma can't really afford so much

He'll leave by his own free will, you'll see. He realizes the next season will be the last of his career, and he wants to play it at maximum. He knows he won't find space with Pato, Ibra, Robinho and Cassano. Allegri never showed faith in him to begin with, even when he was fit. He doesn't have any other reason to remain. He beat all the records. Love of the shirt aside, I'd be sad if Inzaghi's last season in his professional career was wasted on the bench.

I'm not Pippo's biggest fan and I've always admitted it, but I don't think all he cares about is his European record. if he did so badly, he'd move to another club where he could be a starter all the time. there are many clubs that participate in the CL but aren't necessarily that big. like where Raul is. hell, he could even go to Turkey where Guti is and get all the CL action he wants.
I think he loves and cares about Milan.
