I can't believe this team took our place in the CL they're losing every game!

Fiorentina didn't take our place. dry.gif We gave it to them.

Anyway, FT 2-1 Lyon. Gilardino had a half decent game, considering the overall play. Lloris is turning out to be a great, great keeper, he has an amazing leap. Almost Dida like. cool.gif Benzama is the shizzle. And Juninho, oh my God! He's the absolute best free kick taker in the whole world? Forget Pirlo, forget Ronaldinho, forget Beckham, forget everybody. This guy has magic accuracy, and always showcases this in big matches. Even today he hit the bar twice. Both from long range efforts. It doesn't get much better than this: Juninho is always a threat on dead balls. Even Pirlo admitted he learned from the master. And what's better he's great at both making passes, and receiving them too. He's scored quite a few goals in open play.

And congrats, Lock. king.gif Been a while since I've dished out beer pitchers for Arsenal. About time:

Looks like Juve drew yet again. Are they still in contention to make it out of the group stage at this point?

Of course. dry.gif They're first with 11 points, with Madrid in second place with 9. The way things are going, teams like Zenit, Fiorentina, Bordeaux are about to join us in the UEFA Cup. Hmm, Gila and Gourcuff against Milan, anyone?

FT Arsenal 1-0 Dinamo Kiyv. Bendtner on the 86 after a stunning 50-metre pass from Fabregas.
We're through.

Didn't Bendtner handle the ball?

regarding arsenal's goal

now it was my understanding that an Arsenal player got injured and asked the play to be stopped.. and so it was a drop ball situation which fabregas should've kicked back to dynamo keeper, but instead he takes the play to his own team?

anyone else see this?

That is terrible!!! mad.gif
Had a team done this to us, I would have been really upset!
Or, even if we did that to another team - its just wrong.

...very poor display of fair play!

I hope this isn't the case, especially with all the fuss Wenger made when we scored past them when Sagna was on the floor.

Raúl Equals Filippo Inzaghi’s UEFA Goal Haul

Real Madrid captain Raúl has now drawn level with Pippo Inzaghi to become the all-time top scorer in UEFA club competition.

Raúl’s solitary strike for Los Merengues against BATE Borisov in last night’s Champions League clash was enough to launch the ‘Men In White’ into the knockout phase of the competition.

In the process, his seventh-minute goal also lifted him to the very top of the scoring charts in UEFA club competition with 64 goals, 62 of them in the Champions League alone, to join AC Milan predator Filippo Inzaghi as Europe’s all-time leading marksmen.

The 32 year old Madrid captain has now also extended his lead at the top of the UEFA Champions League goalscoring table, two strikes infront of his teammate, Ruud van Nistelrooy, six ahead of another AC Milan striker, Andriy Shevchenko, with no other current existing player close in sight.

Top Five Leading Scorers In UEFA Club Competition

1. Filippo Inzaghi (ITA/ AC Milan) – 64 goals

- Raúl (SPA/ Real Madrid) – 64

3. Gerd Muller (GER) – 62

4. Andriy Shevchenko (UKR/AC Milan) – 61

5. Ruud van Nistelrooy (NED/Real Madrid) – 60

Leading Scorers In UEFA Champions League

1. Raúl (SPA/Real Madrid) – 62 goals

2. Ruud van Nistelrooy (NED/Real Madrid) – 60

3. Andriy Shevchenko (UKR/AC Milan) – 56

4. Alfredo Di Stéfano (ARG/SPA) – 49

5. Eusebio (POR) – 47

6. Thierry Henry (FRA/Barcelona) – 46

Can't stand this Raul, don't know why...arrggh,..I hope Pippo will be with us next year, so he can score a few more CL goals...
Zed.D
62 goals in the CL alone... and he's 4 years younger than Pippo [can see him score another 10 or 15 goals before he retires]. phenomenal.

Pippo is not in the top 6 of the CL scorers..?

I can't stand him much either, but Pippo doesn't compare with Raul. unsure.gif I'm speaking overall. Inzaghi has unique poaching skills that no other striker in the world has, but the Spaniard is another thing altogether. One-club man, skill, sense of scoring. I do agree with him scoring more CL goals next season, however. He still has it in him for a couple more years.

Pippo is immortal, but he isn't even the best attacker from Italy: Baggio is, and will be for some time.

Quality player, this Raul guy. king.gif I've never been a particular fan of him, but have always enjoyed watching his game. He's one of those players you just can't hate. Absolute legends of the game.

We lost to AEK too right?? The time when Carlo did a favour just coz Pana's family owns the club? But if I recollect, it was coz we were already through and had nothing to play for? Are Inter through? I haven't been paying any attention to the CL, and probably won't till the quarter finals...

We lost in Athens, it's not quite the same... but no we had not qualified we did that very night thanks to the result of the other game. So did Inter today.

And yeah, Jack, they're through. Even if they lose, draw or win, doesn't matter. dry.gif I do want Panathinaikos to defeat Anorthosis, and inter drawing with Werder Bremen so they finish 2nd in the group. That'll create some fireworks in the knockout stage.

That's strange, I don't remember it at all. I only remember our game against them at San Siro, Yoann's debut...

What a difference a couple of days makes. The cugini were really rather good against Juve but they sucked against Panathinaikos (watched that game live). It was only a matter of time before the Greeks scored and they deserved the win. Nice touch was the applause the crowd gave to Karagounis when he was subbed off (Karagounis used to play for the cugini).

So there are a bunch of CL games today. Not especially concerned about who wins, to be honest. My main hope is that all the games end peacefully. Sort of an odd wish, but the OM fans threatened to kill a bunch of Atletico fans because an OM fan got jail time in Spain for assaulting a Spanish police officer. Then there's Panathinaikos-Anorthosis, which is being played in Athens...where there are riots.

So...Fishdoll and I hope for peaceful ends to all the games, especially those two.

In terms of who we're cheering for, Fishdoll and I are wearing yellow and red today in support of AS Roma. Their Milan alum, Panucci, is and will remain an immortal for me because of the game he played in 1994 in Athens.

So a French guy assaulted a Spanish officer and they feel angry that he was put in prison.. What a bunch of fags.

They apparently sent repeated death threats not only to the Atletico offices but also to the offices of the various Atletico ultra groups.

So far only one goal, by Djalo of Sporting.

Chelsea haven't conceeded a goal at home to a team from outside of England since September '07. Quite a good record considering they made the final last season, and therefore played alot of home games!

I should really learn to stop posting things like that. 1-1, Kone.
