Agent Confirms Koeman Is New Valencia Manager

The Ronald Koeman affair has progresses rapidly since the morning. After several Spanish media revealed the PSV Eindhoven boss was in talks with Valencia, something the Primera Division club went on to confirm a little later, now Koeman’s agent has revealed it’s a done deal.


“For the first time in 28 years I advised Ronald not to say anything on the matter. I can tell you, however, that he has signed a contract with Valencia for two and a half years. I’ll be in a position to say more tomorrow.” Ger Lagendijk told the Dutch media. 

Both the Eredivisie champions and Koeman himself declined to comment the manager’s move to Spain. But PSV have already announced they’ll hold a press conference at 8 pm (local time) tonight. Club spokesman Pedro Salazar Hewitt said: “I cannot confirm anything else.”

This is a surprise. And this worries me a bit too.

With 23 yo, he's definately showing some class in Madrid (and in the NT). Just like he did in Santos.

I've seen more calls go Barca's way than Real. But I do remember a certain Madrid derby last season which was going Real's way in a rather shocking manner..

i dunno about last season, but all i know is this season real has had too many calls go there way.

David Villa's agent has hinted that Tottenham are considering a move for the Valencia striker.

The Spanish international is regarded as one of the best forwards in Europe and has constantly been linked with a move away from Valencia.

Spurs boss Juande Ramos is believed to be drawing up a list of targets for January as he looks to reshape his squad at White Hart Lane and he could be in the market for Villa.

Villa's agent Jose Luis Tamargo claims a number of English clubs are tracking the former Real Zaragoza ace and that Valencia would consider any offer from Tottenham

"Many clubs have contacted me to ask about the chances of a player who is guaranteed to score goals in England," Tamargo is quoted as saying in the News of the World.

"But I am convinced if Spurs present an offer Valencia will study the subject."

Valencia are likely to resist any move to prise Villa away from La Mestalla, with the 25-year-old the club's prized-asset.

Last time I checked, Villa was a top striker and Spurs already had too many. Maybe Ramos is looking to probably get rid of two (Defoe and Berbatov I'd have thought) and bring in Villa, the Spanish connection would help, but if Villa goes anywhere it won't be to a team that probably won't be playing European football next season.
