With Gattuso and Flamini there (not to mention Cardacio), we don't need another DM do we? we need a versatile midfielder who can play in Seedorf and Kaka's position as one is finished, and the other is leaving.

«Adesso andremo all’attacco per Pato».

Osservati speciali pure Santacroce, Bocchetti e Pisano.

Clarence Seedorf: According to examiner.com Seedorf told Philadelphia Union Nick Sakiewicz that he was interested in joining MLS. The rumor mill started churning immediately and suddenly all signs were pointing to the Union signing Seedorf, but Sakiewicz says there have been no talks with the Milan star.

Yet, this strikes me as one of those rumors that needs to be taken somewhat seriously. Seedorf is on the outs at Milan and is getting up there in age. But who would doubt his ability to step in and make an immediate impact on any MLS team?

Drawbacks: I don’t see one if he joins the Union and the Philly franchise could use a solid rock to build their team around and will have the money to spend.

Probability: I think the Union will make a play and Seedorf will hear them out, but that’s purely a guess. I’ll say 60/40 he stays in Europe but 80/20 that if he comes to MLS it’s to play for the Union.

Andrei Shevchenko: Out of favor at Milan after being bounced from Chelsea, the 32-year-old is not done with his career, but is clearly not the same player he once was.

So why would Shevchenko ever think of joining MLS? His wife.

Sheva is married to American model Kristen Pazik who was reportedly one of the reasons for his move to Chelsea. (She wanted to be in an English speaking country.) The couple was married in the U.S. and with Shevchenko probably on the move again sometime soon it would not be a huge surprise if they decided to come to America.

I’ll openly admit that Shevchenko is more likely to head to back to Ukranian football for a couple of year, but even at 35-years-old the Milan ace would be a solid player in MLS.

Drawbacks: Shevchenko isn’t ready to give up his hopes of top-flight footy, and there is nothing wrong with that, but it doesn’t bode well for him moving to the U.S. anytime soon. The older he gets before joining the MLS, the less likely he will be to have a major impact.

Probability: I know it sounds crazy to many people, but I think Scevchenko will be on an MLS pitch in a couple of years. I’ll say 65/35 he’s in MLS by 2011.

RATIONALITY AND EMOTION
6/4/2009 5:52:00 PM
Silvio Berlusconi speaks: 'Me and Kaká will speak on Monday. Not everything has been decided yet, inside of me I still hope for a surprise. But football has never been centered on this or that player.'

MILAN - Silvio Berlusconi speaks. The Milan president talked about the current topics at Milan: here are his main declarations of today to Mediaset's microphones.

"Football should be rationality and emotion. You can't take a decision only with reasoning, also because as you know I follow Erasmus of Rotterdam who said that the most right decisions are not the ones that come from intelligence, but those that come from a kind of visionary madness.'

'The Kaká case is quite complicated. Reason goes in one direction, sentiment goes the other way. Then there's Kaká's interest, as with Shevchenko, who was and still is a good friend of mine. When they offered him a bigger fee, I decided I could not oppose myself. We could not raise his salary the way Chelsea would with their offer, because by law we would have had to raise the salaries of all our players and this would have brought Milan to suffer heavy losses or to go bankrupt.
Already today we presented a balance with heavy losses over the years, because petrol dollars have entered football and some Russian personalities too. Going on like this there won't be a chance to have balanced accounts. We have to say stop to craziness and work by staying careful of the balances. We will reason on this. If aside from this, Kaká made it clear that they would pay him better we would leave it up to him. Me and Kaká have made an appointment for a long phone call on Monday. Not everything has been decided yet, inside of me I still hope for a surprise. Inside of me I hope.

'I don't want to hear talk of a redimensioned Milan, which is still the most winning club in the world. It's unthinkable that we would have to give up on our mission of being in command of the pitch and of the football. The mission will not change. Football has never been centered on this or that player. There are many good players. Milan will have to look for a true striker who would make us improve in quality going forward. I won't name names, or else the prices will increase...'

'Only Kaká is currently uncertain of staying, Pato, Seedorf and Pirlo are unsellable. We will renew Ambrosini's contract and he'll be our captain.'

'Ancelotti? There are cycles, then you have to change. There are some seasons where you have to say 'stop' and change. Leonardo will repeat the journey of Fabio Capello. I had seen excellent qualities in Capello as a manager, as a man and as a motivator. We made him start as a manager, then he went to coach youths, and then in the end, when we felt he was ready, we made him the coach, with the results we all know. The new coach will bring new ambition and excitement to Milan, we will aim for new targets with him. Carlo Ancelotti will do fine at Chelsea.'

'I told Cristiano Ronaldo that I would like to see him as a Rossonero and he looked at me... Who doesn't like Milan? All players would like to come to Milan.'

Galatasaray have appointed Frank Rijkaard as coach on a two-year contract, the Dutchman replacing Bülent Korkmaz after his resignation was accepted by the Turkish club's board on Tuesday.

Honours
The 46-year-old has been out of coaching since leaving FC Barcelona on 30 June 2008 after two seasons without a trophy at the Camp Nou. Under Rijkaard, appointed ahead of the 2003/04 campaign having previously coached the Netherlands and Sparta Rotterdam, the Blaugrana won the UEFA Champions League and two Spanish titles.

Europa League
Korkmaz replaced Michael Skibbe as Galatasaray coach on 23 February and guided the club to a fifth-placed finish in the Süper Lig, enough to earn a berth in the inaugural UEFA Europa League. With the second qualifying round getting under way on 16 July, Rijkaard has little time to waste.

Milan To Replace Kaka With Arsenal Star Francesc Fabregas – Report

Milan are already planning to replace Kaka with Arsenal ace Francesc Fabregas, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The club are on the verge of cashing in on their Brazilian by selling him to Real Madrid - a deal that is likely to conclude on Monday. The Rossoneri are likely to use funds provisioned from Kaka's sale to bring in Fabregas.

The report claims the star is looking for a new adventure following his six year spell with the Gunners. In addition, voices claim the Spanish international's former team-mates Mathieu Flamini and Philippe Senderos have been trying to entice him into making the move to Milan.

Signing the player is likely to be tough. Arsenal will not be keen on losing a key component of Arsene Wenger's football mechanism. The player himself has also claimed in the past that the only team he will move to after the Gunners is Barcelona.

Milan have also been linked with Robinho and Chelsea's Florent Malouda, however, president Silvio Berlusconi words on Friday suggest Ronaldinho will be Kaka's direct replacement. The chief told Milan Channel that he was "counting on Ronaldinho next season".

Albin - highly rated prospect in la liga(i think, or the dutch league)
Vidic- we would have to pay 30M for IMO
Kjaer - ours at 15M
Zapata - ^
Maxwell - With mourinho cutting the list of players shorter, he might be a free agent
trez - I'm a little interested barring we dont pay over 8M
yaya toure - i agree, not happening
Malouda - i also agree, this is a joke:)

Regarding Ronaldo, if i understand Man U's situation, if ronaldo Does Not sign with real, Real owe Man Utd 26M or something, so maybe if they backhanded real and let milan buy him (only other club with that much money to spend if kaka moves) they may retain some of the signing penalty from CR7. I admit it's a weird situation to my knowledge, and if i'm way off by all means explain it to me smile.gif

Fabregas-Adebayor for Milan?

Saturday 6 June, 2009

Milan are eyeing a top star to replace Kaka, targeting Cesc Fabregas along with Arsenal teammate Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Rossoneri are prepared to sacrifice their Ballon d’Or winner to Real Madrid for £65m and President Silvio Berlusconi confirmed plans to bring in “a strong centre-forward.”

Although Luca Toni of Bayern Munich and Juventus’ David Trezeguet fit the bill, it’s believed the number one target is Arsenal’s Adebayor.

They had already tried to sign the African hitman in January and could make another bid this summer, but with an additional catch.

According to the Italian newspapers, Milan have proposed a double swoop for Adebayor and Spanish international Fabregas.

It’s believed the midfielder is seeking new experiences and a better shot at the Champions League than he can get at Arsenal.

Players who have already made the switch, Mathieu Flamini and Philippe Senderos, could convince Fabregas that San Siro is the stadium for him.

Meanwhile, there is news from Brazil’s World Cup qualifying camp that Kaka was asked to sign a Real Madrid shirt by a fan.

“He saw the shirt and signed it near the club badge. He took it very well,” said the lucky supporter.

Can't these people see our biggest investment on a 'star' in the last 6-7 has been signing Gilardino, four years ago? Milan won't be able to sign or even compete to sign Fabregas+Adebayor or Fabregas alone in a hundred years. that Milan belongs in history books. when will these people wake up? can't they see it's become a case of sell-your-best-player-every-three-years or struggle-financially for us?

Chelsea Prepare €30 Million Assault On Milan's Pirlo

After Kaka and Pato, Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo is the latest name to be linked to a move away from the club.

Andrea Pirlo has always been a favourite of new Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti and it would not be too much of a surprise if Ancelotti wanted the playmaker to follow him to England this summer.

Ancelotti is, in fact, said to be keen on adding some fantasy and flair to a very physically strong midfield, which includes the likes of Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack and Michael Essien.

According to gsvs.it, the London based club is ready to offer €30m in order to lure Pirlo to the Blues and offer the player a four-year deal of six and a half million Euros a year.

These are figures which could tempt anyone, especially a 30-year-old player with the opportunity to land his last big contract before his career comes to an end.

Milan, however, are desperate not to lose another important player, but may well find €30m a difficult amount of money to refuse.

Sell him, that is definitely worth it if its true. 30 million we could buy 2-3 players. Buy cigarini for 10 million and hes replaced.

Juventus And Milan Also Following Forlan - Report

If Atletico Madrid have the chance to enter the Champions League through the preliminary round, much of the merit goes to their prolific striker Diego Forlan, who managed to net a staggering 32 goals in 33 games last season.

This saw him winning the European Golden Boot for the second time in his career and, needless to say, the 'Pichichi' title as well.

While his only experience at a major European club, Manchester United, was largely unsuccessful, the 30-year-old is still a wanted man after such an impressive season with the Madrid side.

According to 'El Confidencial', Juventus are one of the teams interested, as they consider him a perfect substitute for David Trezeguet, who is likely to leave the club this summer.

Meanwhile, Milan, who have always maintained a good relationship with Atletico Madrid, may also have an eye out for the player, as vice-president Adriano Galliani has emphasized the club will sign a world-class striker after the likely sale of Kaka to Real Madrid.

Among the many players who have made the switch from Atletico to Milan (or vice-versa) have been Fabricio Coloccini, Javi Moreno, Cosmin Contra and Jose Mari

No Negotiations For Milan Star Seedorf - Agent

The Dutchman's future at the San Siro is still up in the air, even if there are currently no negotiations underway...

Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf is reportedly on his way out of Milan, with Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti interested in bringing his former player to Stamford Bridge and Turkish side Fenerbahce also considering a move for the 33-year-old.

The player's agent, Giovanni Branchini, has revealed that the former Real Madrid and Inter player has yet to receive any offers and is committed to the Rossoneri.

"At this time, there are no negotiations in progress," he told Calciomercatonews on Sunday.

"Seedorf is a Milan player 100 percent and will remain so until proven otherwise. I repeat, no current negotiations. I don't know if something will happen in the next few days. We'll see."

The veteran had an inconsistent season with the Milanese giants, grabbing six goals in 33 appearances in Serie A in 2008-09.

I was going to say if Pirlo leaves we should get Cigarini, but Napoli have already swooped for him. Plus he is not a Brazilian so the board would not have considered him anyway

Hernanes is brazillian and can replace him. Not as good as cigarini but he's getting there.

The Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini, with full media coverage of the tam tam transfer fixes the price of its jewel Kjaer. "It means if someone comes with 12 million euros [...] If the prosecutor finds me who brings me that Kjaer figure can go. " AC Milan and other clubs, therefore, are advised.

Basically if someone offers palermo 12 million for him, he is welcome to leave. Were linked with him right now. He is a 19 year old danish CB who has had a great season.

I haven't seen to much of him, but from what I have seen, and from what I have heard - I am impressed.
I've heard so much good things about this kid, and at such a young age he is very highly rated. I think the 12 mil could be a good investment, I really do hope we go for him.

That Kaladze news also excites me btw... biggrin.gif

I also found this article on transfermarketweb, and even though its been posted since the 4th, I found it interesting.
So I decided to post it:

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport published today, AC Milan GM Adriano Galliani said : "If Kaka will leave, it will be only due to money. We cannot afford to ignore lucrative offers anymore. With 70 millions or more, we might sell Kaka. I am aware of how AC Milan fans may feel if Kaka would leave, but feelings are separate from business. I also know that Kaka is very attached to the club and to our fans, but even an affectionate and loyal player like him has to deal with business and should think about the financial aspect of football. Anyway, we are not going to sell all of our stars. Kaka could leave, but our other key players are not for sale. We still have Ronaldinho, who can play in Kaka's position. Moreover, I can say that I am in the process of signing a top forward and you will soon find out who he is".

In the meantime, AC Milan boss Silvio Berlusconi said on TV station Canale Italia : "All offers for Kaka from other clubs will be considered, but I have told Galliani and Kaka to wait before making a final decision. I will talk to them in person on Monday. What I can say now is that the final decision must be made by Kaka. That's what happened a few years ago with Andrei Shevchenko. When we received Chelsea's staggering offer, I told him to make the final decision".

It hurts me too man, it really does. Kaka is by far my favorite milan player and one of the reasons why I am a milan fan. To see him leave hurts deep...real deep.

But things like this do happen and we have to accept that for the betterment of the club, sacrifices have to be made. This is no longer Carlo's era, this is leonardo's era. So we have to put faith in our new coach's plans in the market. Losing Kaka hurts us alot in so many ways, but his sale benefits us in the way that Leonardo now has the choice to refresh milan how he feels it should be without restrictions to average signings.

Milan President Berlusconi Hails Ronaldinho, Blasts Ancelotti

Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has already envisioned next season's team and the way they will play, as he sees Leonardo's side being a decidedly offensive one.

Berlusconi believes that Ronaldinho will be a central figure in this team, something which did not happen under Carlo Ancelotti, whom he blames for an ultimately disappointing 2008-09 campaign.

"It will surely be an offensive squad who will not play with crosses and high balls, but will have to manage with technique, rapidity and short passes - all the moves where surely the protagonist of the game will be Ronaldinho," explained the president to the Corriere dello Sport.

"We missed him in certain games - the ones we did not win and we allowed our opponents to come back - because he could have held the ball, it would have allowed a different development
of the game.

"Ancelotti was not able to manage the games in which the team was in the lead anymore. Too many times our opponents managed to equalise, since we were unable to give them the knockout hit."

In the end, the Rossoneri finished their Serie A campaign in third place and managed to qualify directly for the Champions League.

So this gives us a slight clue as to what our signing template will be like. We will be going for more technical players rather than play makers it seems.

Report: Barcelona Reject Andres Iniesta-Zlatan Ibrahimovic Swap Deal With Inter

According to Sport Mediaset, Inter patron Massimo Moratti had proposed to his Barcelona counterpart Joan Laporta a swap deal involving Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Spanish international Andres Iniesta, however, the bid has fallen on deaf ears.

The Italian champions had apparently decided to turn to Iniesta after negotiations to exchange ‘Ibra’ with Cameroonian hitman Samuel Eto’o hit a stumbling block.

La Gazzetta dello Sport today reports that Eto’o has demanded a whopping €65 million to agree to the swap deal: a €15m pay-off from Barca and a lucrative five-year contract with Inter worth €10m a year.

It is claimed that the European champions have instead offered the services of holding midfielder Yaya Toure, who is reportedly at odds with the club.

Should coach Jose Mourinho agree to sign the Ivorian international, Inter would still ask for at least €40m to release Ibrahimovic, who is tied to the Nerazzurri until 2013 and is valued at around €70m.
