Milan and Villa really have similarities this summer. Best players gone in Barry and Kaka'. Captains are victims of retirement in Laursen and Maldini. Top striker rumoured to be leaving earlier in the window in Carew and Pato. Most influential player said to be leaving, Young and Pirlo. Both doing **** all in terms of transfers.
But as pesimistic as I am at times, I believe both have been working behind the scenes and want to keep things quiet as to not alert rivals.

Pizarro, Mancienna and 20 million euros for Pirlo
Tuesday, 28.07.09. 12:52.
Although the leaders of Milan a few days ago said that no more sales footballer, a big question is how will react to the offer Chelsea for Andrea Pirlo. Specifically, this midfilder is big wish of coach Carla Ancelotti and therefore Chelsea will make a bid to address Rossonera.
According to English media Milan club will be offered 20 million euros, as well as an experienced attacker Claudio Pizarro and defense and a young footballer Michael Manciennu.
This offer for the Italian club leaders can be very interesting, especially if you take into account that the transfer was part of and experienced attacker Pizarro.

That said, Berlusconi has this morning commented that Milan would be looking to young players and wouldn't be buying anyone over 30 as their wages are too high. (as reported on Mediaset, milannews, etc etc)
Not exactly milan-related stuff, but Livorno have signed Houston Dinamo player Ricardo Clark, who'll come over in January.
And in milan-related news, Willy Aubemeyang is on a trial at French side Nantes.

Milan Reject Chelsea Bid For Andrea Pirlo - Report
Milan have rejected an offer from Chelsea for Andrea Pirlo, according to the British tabloids.
The Daily Mail claimed on Tuesday that the London club had tabled a bid of €10 million (£8.6m) plus Claudio Pizarro, and Michael Mancienne on loan, for the Italian international.
However, The Sun now reports that an offer of nearer €14.5m (£12.5m) and just Pizarro has been turned down, with a 'Milan insider' quoted as saying that Pirlo is "worth £35m".
The former Inter midfielder has been heavily linked to Chelsea ever since Carlo Ancelotti - the man in charge when the player arrived at the Rossoneri - filled the hot-seat at Stamford Bridge.
But the new coach at San Siro, Leonardo, has stressed that Pirlo is part of his plans for the 2009-10 campaign - a line that flies in the face of club president Silvio Berlusconi's new 'under-30s' policy.
wow shocking....

Update and this time its good news:
Wolfsburg and Dzeko have clashed once again with the player demanding a transfer to Milan.
"I want to go to Milan." Edin Dzeko will not give in to the Wolfsburg firm intentions of him staying put. The Bosnian striker (23 years old) told the German newspaper Die Welt: "I received an offer from the club where I dreamed of playing since childhood, for me, Milan will always be the best team in the world. Wolfsburg has the right to say no to my transfer, however I have a say in where I wish to play next season as well.
Things are looking good for us. I have a small feeling that this may be announced next week. If pirlo goes, I can see us signing him very fast. Probably 20-25 M euros.
But! Its a small feeling and everyone shouldn't get their hopes up. At this point, no matter who says what, we still have no clue as to who G wants to sign.

AC Milan owner and chairman Silvio Berlusconi has told Italian media sources : "I have decided on a new policy for AC Milan. We will no longer sign players who are over the age of 30. I want younger players from now on. We should sign young and talented footballers not older than age 23. .... We will sign a young Brazilian midfielder soon .... As regards the recent rumours linking Andrea Pirlo with a move to Chelsea, I have no comment".
Berlusconi's new transfer market policy clearly indicates that AC Milan will not sign David Trezeguet, Luis Fabiano and David Beckham (contrary to recent reports and rumours) as they are all well over 23. In addition, the young Brazilian midfielder mentioned by AC Milan's owner could be Carlos Eduardo (22), who plays in Germany for Hoffenheim.
