i hope he ain't feedin us BS, i'm kinda gettin used to my low optimism concerning this transfer window.
Tennie
There do seem to be negotiations (as reported variously on calciomercato/mediaset/yahoo italia) between Milan and Lazio. They're talking about a deal for De Silvestri and possibly Ledesma.

The striker thing is up in the air -- nobody seems to agree on who we're going after. Some sources report Huntelaar, some Fabiano, some Dzeko.

And one source (I think it's eurosport) is talking about maybe snejder from Real as a Pirlo replacement.
Zed.D
Sneijder (/Ledesma), Di Silvestri and a striker (preferably between Huntelaar or Dzeko) would be awesome! wishful thinking may be, but I think after losing Maldini, Kaka and [if he leaves] Pirlo, they owe us that much!
JimboMilano
Things became so twisted and confusing right now in Milan, Only Galliani knows what the heck is going on for us.
We only have to face the fact that Pirlo is GONE. it is a done deal. Now since we are link with every single player there is outhere, one can only guess who will we sign.

Dzeko

Dzeko Goals - 31.07.2009

Tennie
It looks like we can cross Dzeko off the list. Eurosport Italia is reporting that he's signed a contract extension (to 2013) and quoted him as saying he's happy everything was arranged before the start of the Bundesliga and that he can't wait to start the season and the CL.
han2503
Now that Pirlo is gone 1 midfielder is not enough, we needed another mid with Pirlo, but now they screwed the team over more then it already was.

Imo in order to be even mildly competitive against Inter and Juve next season we need a fullback, 2 mids I personally would prefer Sneijder and Hernanes our midfield is over crowded with defensive mids, Seedorf now is the only creative one and lets face it, he is not reliable, Hernanes would be the box to box guy we absolutely need and Sneijder would be the Pirlo replacement, even though he doesn't do what Pirlo does but he's still an amazing passer, plus he pitches in with goals of his own. And we need another forward as I don't see Boriello scoring us a lot of goals. Huntelaar would be the ideal as we wouldn't need to worry about the passports and all that
nuh
it seems like pirlo is not leaving cuz galliani just just said pirlo is not for sale
and he said he will be meeting his friend perez very soon
Tennie
hrm.

Sky tg24 NOW has Galliani saying that under the current conditions (which they think are a bid of 8mln + Pizarro), Pirlo is unsellable. He also says he's going to be calling his friend Florentino Perez.

Milan reject Chelsea's Pirlo bid
Saturday 1 August, 2009
Milan chief Adriano Galliani confirms Chelsea have made an offer for Andrea Pirlo, but it is “not satisfactory.”

The newspaper stories that the Stamford Bridge side proposed cash plus Claudio Pizarro were confirmed this afternoon by the Vice-President.

“The offer of £7m plus Pizarro is not satisfactory and with these conditions Pirlo is not for sale,” Galliani told Sky Sport Italia.

This statement is important for several reasons, as it confirms Chelsea have made a bid for the midfielder and also that Milan are willing to listen for the right price.

It is believed the Rossoneri have valued 2006 World Cup winner Pirlo at around £18m, relying on how much Carlo Ancelotti wants to be reunited with the player.

Meanwhile, Galliani also dropped hints on the search for Real Madrid striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

“I will meet with my friend [Real President] Florentino Perez very soon.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just don't know anymore.
If the offer was really 7 Mil + Pizzaro, that is was like Chelsea was insulting Pirlo because they know he is worth way more then that.
This summer is like a circus for Milan realmad.gif
dst
Is there a place I can bet on that we won't sign any players?
nuh
lol why do you say that ?
dst
Because I don't think we will sign anyone...
nuh
why though....i think we are working hard but things are not going our way
dst
I think none of this is true. Or real.

hmm. two good news! whoever Galliani is calling his friend Perez for, I'm OK with it. Sneijder, KJH, VdV, etc. Madrid is full of good or potentially good players who are not needed there anymore! let's get em, Baldy! cool.gif

Dzeko's new contract is the one with the release clause by the way. He is not coming this season it seems but we have a chance to sign him next january depending on how they do in champions league.

I say raid the Dutch nation over at Real

KJH, Sneijder and Drenthe for the right back position would be great.

I know some don't see Drenthe as a quality player, but imo he's been the most impressive Real player in pre-season, he's very strong, quick and good defensively, and we'd get him practically for free
Bluesummers
Berlu denies he is selling milan, he says he doesn't know anything about pirlo and says everything is fine rolleyes.gif

“These are all just stories, there is no truth in them whatsoever,” Berlusconi blasted.

“I know nothing about Pirlo, as I haven’t spoken to Galliani,” he added.

With little action on the transfer front, the Milan patron then denied any talks of a possible swoop for Real Madrid’s Klaas Huntelaar.

“I don’t know him. In any case, I spoke with coach Leonardo whilst he was in the USA and everything is going fine.”

huntelaar=15-20
vdv=10-15
robben=20-25

that is a huge bargain and madrid are in perssure so go go go baldy!

I've always rated him rather highly - and that's not the same as saying his performances have been good for Real. I believe he has the potential to turn out a very good player, maybe even a world class player but the circumstances are just not right at Real for him to blossom. wouldn't mind him at Milan one bit.

Drenthe is excellent _ at LB alot better and alot cheaper than that cissokho we were after once upon a time

The Dutch Trio would be welcomed indeed and would make the team competetive for sure - they arent the hardest targets since there outta favour at the bernabeu

Yeah yeah we'll sign all Madrid's Dutch players and then some more.

WE CAME UP WITH AN EXCUSE ABOUT FAULTY TEETH TO LOWER A PLAYER'S PRICE FOR ****S SAKE HOW CAN YOU EXPECT SUCH THINGS TO HAPPEN?

If we spend more than 10m in this window (I actually expect us to only spend two or three on a couple more unknowns), I'd be more than surprised.

Its been going around that he wanted a clause in his contract the he would be released if Milan made an offer next summer or they didn't make it to the CL last 16

AS is reporting madrid have put a break on all offers for huntelaar and have given us pole position to sign him. Fenerbache have tabled an offer of 15m euros and 4 m a year for hunty but its supposidly either rejected or on stall. They said we have a week to act on the purchase of any madrid players as that is the window of time we have first choice over all other clubs.

thats a long time for madrid to reject all other club bids. That is a big favor, galliani probably put in hours of bending over tongue.gif
Bluesummers
So guys our main targets are sneijder and huntelaar currently. Huntelaar could be signed early next week while sneijder will depend on when pirlo gets sold.

imo we should sell pirlo, sign huntelaar, vdv, sneijder and drenthe for a package of like 40-50 million or something. That would be more than enough for us to compete in the league.
Tennie
There's no talk of the recission clause in Dzeko's contract in yesterday's stories that I can see. It was mentioned earlier but not in the last couple of days. Anyone seen anything since Friday on it?

As for AS...well, they're Madrid's pet paper so maybe they've got inside info but they're also the ones who posted the photoshopped picture of Kaka some time ago so....

EDIT: Milannews is reporting (and I'm taking it with a grain of salt) that the club's looking at a young Italian as a Pirlo replacement, either Aquilani or Montolivo (who'll be more expensive).

Chelsea raise stakes for Pirlo
Sunday 2 August, 2009
Chelsea are reportedly raising the stakes in their push for Andrea Pirlo to £16m or £10m plus Claudio Pizarro after Milan turned down the offer.

“The offer of £7m plus Pizarro is not satisfactory and with these conditions Pirlo is not for sale,” Vice-President Adriano Galliani told Sky Italia television on Saturday.

With that very public warning, Carlo Ancelotti has asked his club to increase the price and bring in the 30-year-old midfielder.

The wording of the Rossoneri’s statement suggests they are more than willing to sell if the right figure is met.

According to newspapers in both Italy and England this morning, Chelsea are raising the stakes to £16m cash or £10m plus Pizarro.

Galliani does not want to be accused of selling another star for a cut-price fee after losing Kaka to Real Madrid for ‘only’ £56m compared to Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

It is also reported that Pirlo’s agent Tullio Tinti has already agreed personal terms with the Stamford Bridge side over a four-year contract worth £4.5m per season.

In turn, the cash injection would allow Milan to finally raise their bid for Sevilla’s Luis Fabiano or Klaas Jan Huntelaar of Real Madrid.

Blog: Take Pirlo - please

By selling Andrea Pirlo to Chelsea, Susy Campanale argues Milan are making one of the best deals of the summer
This is going to be a huge mistake – but not for Milan. Finally they have the opportunity to cash in £16m for a 30-year-old who in my view is past his best, are freed from the tactical shackles he imposes on Leonardo’s new-look side and get to make Carlo Ancelotti ‘happy’ by reuniting him with his beloved deep-lying midfielder. Andrea Pirlo, I roll out the red carpet for you to walk to that plane and fly to London.

It’s not that I don’t appreciate Pirlo and everything he has done for the Rossoneri over the years, but this is a great opportunity. He has always dominated the Milan midfield to such an extent that his teammates are forced to work for him, pushing Clarence Seedorf and Mathieu Flamini into positions that are not their own, setting Gennaro Gattuso as his personal bodyguard and sending every forward ball through his feet. He can create something out of nothing, but at the same time he has increasingly made the Diavolo one-note and predictable.

Pirlo represents a huge vulnerability in the squad and I have noticed this both with Milan and Italy over the past two seasons. As he has lost his pace and at the same time opponents have figured out how to attack him, I’ve seen numerous costly counter-attacks prompted by this key figure being dispossessed in the middle of the park. This is in Serie A – imagine how out of place he’d be in the rough-and-tumble world of the Premier League, with different views of what constitutes a foul and how much time you are allowed on the ball. He’d need more than Gattuso to protect him!

With as much as Pirlo has given us in these years at San Siro, Milan will never again get such a good opportunity to move onwards and upwards. Give Leonardo the cash and the freedom to make a side with a relatively young striker, attacking full-backs and proper use of the midfielders at his disposal. It can be considered Ancelotti’s last great parting gift to his successor.

Reports are saying that: If Andrea Pirlo will leave for Chelsea as expected, AC Milan will try to replace him with either AS Roma playmaker Alberto Aquilani (25) or with Fiorentina's Riccardo Montolivo (24).

Aquilani would be great, not such a big fan of Montolivo. I don't know what will happen, some are saying it could be Hernanes, some say Ledesma, others Sneijder and now Aquilani and Montolivo. Personally I would take any 1 of Sneijder/Hernanes/Aquilani, in fact I would be more then happy to have any one of them. Not really enthusiatic about the other 2 mentioned
