it might be better for us if prilo leaves

NO it won't!!!

Pirlo along with Pato and Nesta(if fit) is one of our last top class players.

What makes you think that it would be better for us if he left? The idea of having a midfield with Seedorf as the sole playmaker? Oh that just bring tears to my eyes, I can already see that scenario happening, Seedorf gets the ball he passes it back to defence, the defence gives it back to him, Seedorf passes it back... rolleyes.gif

but thats only cuz we are bad if he joins a team like man united chelsea and others he won't or shouldn't be in their first team....he only plays well when he puts the blue kit for Italy and i mean if we buy someone then it will be better for us

Agree with you on that.

He lost me when he said that Seedorf actually did more then Pirlo.

I agree that Pirlo plays better for Italy but did you stop to think for a moment that its because of the system Lippi uses and not because he does not want to perform well for Milan

Italy play with Gattuso and De Rossi covering Pirlo, and it workd so well because you have Rino acting as the distroyer, De Rossi staying back but going forward when Italy have possession and all Pirlo has to worry about is feeding the ball to the attackers

Insane money? we've sold Kaka and Groucuff for a combined sum of what, £70-80m and haven't bought anyone yet. I know we have to balance the books, but come on, can't we even buy 1 player for £17m? ridiculous.

Hes pretty much done, the only way that he will not be coming is that if sevilla pull out and at this rate they can't really do that. The company that owns 65% of his player rights has told sevilla he is to be sold and that is what is going to happen. A price drop just doesn't happen after a week of saying we won't sell for less that 20 so what I'm guessing is that the club want to keep him but the player and his "real" owners want him at Milan. We'll find out on Tuesday. Galliani is going to seville to bid 16-18 million euros for him and they will most likely accept.
Bluesummers
Okay there is a chance we might not get him. City is linked with a 25 million euro bid for him, which will put us out of the competition. Galliani has to do this fast or were in trouble.

On the day of the first game of the season rossoneri, President Silvio Berlusconi has imposed an oath to verdeoro star Ronaldinho. The Brazilian standing on a table, before the whole team, has sworn to return the outstanding time of the gold ball and the Champions League with Barca in 2006. Berlusconi has therefore entrusted the keys of the Milan Gaucho, which gives the impression of being determined to return to number one.

hmm interesting, so he has promised to work hard and get back to his best. If he does then our team will be very scary to deal with.
kurtsimonw
Never gonna happen. He basically said this when he joined the club after his disasterous end to his time in Barca.. it never happened. He doens't have the motivation anymore, it's not something you can just get back by saying it.

i think if nothing progresses in coming days then we wont be able to sign him considering that another team is paying more money and seville want to keep him as wel

After guiding his new Milan for the first time in their 2-0 victory over local side Varese on Sunday evening, coach Leonardo was all smiles despite the recent declarations of president Silvio Berlusconi, who distanced the club from a potential swoop for Sevilla hitman Luis Fabiano.

Speaking to Mediaset shortly after the game, Leonardo shed some light on the likelihood of a positive conclusion to Milan’s first major move in the summer transfer market.

“Luis Fabiano is close, we just need to go over the final details,” he declared.

“Right now I am satisfied with the squad I’ve got, but if another player was to come in I would be more than happy. During the week we worked hard and I am already seeing the fruits of what I’m working towards.”

With indications that the Rossoneri are to rely more heavily this season on Ronaldinho, Leonardo clarified the Brazilian's physical condition in light of his lack of action last term.

He said, “Ronadinho? He is working hard to get his engine going and increase his stamina over the course of 90 minutes. 'Dinho is a massive talent and if he continues to work like he did this evening, he will soon get back to his best.”

I love this guy wub.gif

Luciano Spalletti has given a clear indication of his transfer requirements as the Giallorossi prepare to bounce back after last season’s disappointment: a centre forward.

The Roma coach is desperate to bring in a strong, physical hitman with the ability to give depth to the side and create a hole in which Francesco Totti can play his natural role.

According to the latest reports from Corriere dello Sport, the newest name to be matched with the so-called demands of the coach is Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

After finding himself further down the pecking order at Real Madrid following the arrivals of the new Galacticos, the Dutchman is expected to pack his bags and find regular first-team football elsewhere.

Given the competition for the talented young forward, Roma have prepared of shortlist of potential alternatives as they wait to see how Huntelaar responds to a concrete offer from Stuttgart.

With Andriy Shevchenko on standby, and Roman Pavlyuchenko a potential bargaining chip should Tottenham Hotspur make a move for Mirko Vucinic, it seems the Giallorossi have a clear transfer strategy but simply lack the funds to kick-start their negotiations.

With Spalletti declaring that Roma will have to offload some personnel before they can buy, the Giallorossi may have to dream a little longer as they search for Klaas.

Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers have been alerted by the news that Miguel Veloso is seeking a move away from Portugal.

The Sporting Lisbon star has been tracked by the pair for some time, and there now appears to be a window for them to make their move.

According to O Jogo, Veloso has instructed his agent, Paulo Barbosa, to find him a foreign club, after learning of the considerable interest in him.

At the moment, Villa and Bolton appear to be the two Premier League clubs with the greatest interest, but the midfielder is being tracked all over Europe.

It is believed that Sporting will look for around €14 million for Veloso.

I don't think that Fabiano is good enought to play for Milan really guys : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lu%C3%ADs_Fabiano#Club_career_2

His career wasent so impresiv, if we sold Boriello 20-25 Mil we could bring WC striker, i would love to see Eto with Ronaldhino again...

What were you watching??? you never realized that Dinho and Eto'o never got along..they couldn't stand each other!! Its either Eto'o or Dinho but not both in the same team. Eto'o is thus out of the question and I think Fab or the Hunter are good options...Ade is basically crap..out of 30 open chances he scores 2!! He has the physical presence and good movement but he's not clinical..Inzaghi is a far much better striker than Ade..

Ronaldinho Promises To Be More Professional At Milan Next Season

Following the encouraging words of Silvio Berlusconi on Sunday afternoon, it appears Ronaldinho is warming to the idea of becoming Milan’s flag bearer next term as he looks to fill the void left by the departed Kaka.

After being cockled by the president as “a great champion”, the Brazilian was asked to promise he would lead the Rossoneri to victory following their recent overhaul.

As Milan strolled to a comfortable pre-season win against local side Varese, 'Dinho then gave his response, promising the fans that he wants to get back to his best.

“I want to have a great season and dedicate my efforts to the president,” he said eagerly.

“I also want to guarantee the fans that I have the right mentality to become a great champion once again.”

Ronaldinho also hailed the potential arrival of Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano, his fellow Brazilian international.

“It would be a great addition, he is a great player and we could form a wonderful trio along with [Alexandre] Pato,” he concluded.

I believe Dinho when he says he will try his best next season because he certainly wants to play in the World Cup. every player does. whether or not he succeeds to have a good season is another thing though.

true but then if a player like himself gives 100 percent and tries his best i dont see any reason why he wouldnt succeed he is talented enough to do so imo

Well, he's 29 and his physical condition is not all that great... and he looks to have lost a good deal of his magic. he hardly could dribble, misplaced his passes more than usual, etc. I hope now that Carlo and Kaka have gone he does better.

I saw the highlights and Dinho looked good. but I personally can't judge anything based on this game. remember, it was Varese. the real test will be Chelsea, Real, Bayern, Inter, etc. games. if Dinho showed up in those games I'd be more than happy to admit he's back to an ideal form. dribbling past a couple of amateurs players doesn't prove anything.

According to Spanish newspaper "Marca", AC Milan and Chelsea could reach an agreement for Andrea Pirlo (30) today. The English club officials are expected to fork out 18 million euros to sign the Italian international, while AC Milan would use that amount to sign Brazilian midfielder Hernanes (24) from Sao Paulo.

Milan's Andrea Pirlo On Verge Of Joining Chelsea - Report
New emerging details from Spain claim Andrea Pirlo is closer than ever to joining Chelsea...

Milan ace Andrea Pirlo is on the verge of joining Chelsea and being reunited with former Rossoneri coach Carlo Ancelotti, according to Spanish paper Marca.

Pirlo, who has been chased by a number of top European sides, has always claimed he would be staying at Milan, but reports in Italy have suggested otherwise. Spanish media have linked him to Atletico Madrid, but it now appears that he will be heading to the Blues.

The report suggests contacts between Ancelotti and Milan have gathered excitement in recent days with Chelsea ready to tempt the Italians with an €18million bid. Further voices surrounding the Milanese giants claim they are ready to lure Sao Paulo ace Hernanes to the San Siro as a replacement for the Italian.

It is suggested the Brazilians want €30m for their man, but the Rossoneri are looking to respond to that demand with just a €10m offer.

As for Pirlo, neither Chelsea nor Milan have made a comment on the latest emerging news from Spain.

I can't believe this. Pirlo is going nowhere. he's too slow for the EPL anyway.

Fabiano sets heart on Milan
Brazilian only interested in Italian switch this summer

Luis Fabiano's agent has revealed his client is only interested in securing a move to AC Milan this summer.

The Italian giants have identified the Sevilla striker as their sole transfer target as they look to make use of the sizeable transfer fee they received from Real Madrid for Brazilian superstar Kaka.

At present the Rossoneri are reluctant to meet the €30million euros (£26m) buy-out clause demanded by their Spanish counterparts, but remain confident an agreement can be reached.

Ambitious Premier League outfit Manchester City were also understood to be tracking Fabiano's availability, but the South American hit-man has made it clear that a move to Giuseppe Meazza is his preferred option.

"There has been some interest from City, but the player only wants to join Milan," Fabiano's agent, Jose Fuentes, told Gazzetta.it.

"I am confident he will be a Milan player - 100 per cent.

"Luis Fabiano only wants to go to Milan, now it is up to Milan and Sevilla to find an agreement.

"At the moment there is no news. Everything is stationary. I don't know for certain whether there will be a meeting between Milan and Sevilla in the next few days, but I imagine another offer will be made this week."

I wonder why its only the Spanish press reporting Pirlo to Chelsea its strange unsure.gif
Protagonist
The club is starting to make some noise in the transfer market, it is clear the next addition is Luis Fabiano. And if rumors are to be taken into consideration, then Hernanes will come in for the departing Pirlo.

The club seems to have taken its foot off the clutch, whereby it is focusing on a new Milan. But if Pirlo is to leave, it will take more than a Hernanes or whoever to fill in that void!
Zed.D
We can't play with 5 Brazilian starters. that'd be ridiculous! just imagine that, Thiago, Dinho, Pato, Hernanes, Fabiano, and even Dida if Abbiati doesn't make it in time for the season start. no, I'm not buying this. both Pirlo and Hernanes will remain where they are.
maldini03
Our current formation looks something like this:
Abbiati
Zambrotta--Nesta--Thiago--Janku--
--Flamini--Pirlo--Gattuso--
--Ronnie--Borriello--Pato--
I thinik we can al agree that we have soem serious problem spots on the field. First of all is that LB position. I dont think Janku can cut it anymore, he just isnt what he used to be Crisito can fill this void perfectly. Second Borriello coming off of a long term injury needs to be replaced with a good strong CF. I welcome the idea of a Toni-esque figure, strong in the chest and good in the air. Dzeko was a good option, but I favor Pazzini and Huntelaar over Fabiano. Third, we need some creativity in midfield, Flamini adds more to the attack than Ambro but what if he sustains an injury? what are we left with? I think we should bring in Aquiliani or Veloso for long term midfield cover. Other than that I think we have suficient coverage for everything else except RB but Bonera is an adequate sub. I have faith in our management to do what is nessesary, and I dont think Milan will ever truly fall from grace. Although I dont agree with everything that goes on I do believe that the youth: (Abate, Di Gennaro, Albertazzi, Palo, Zigoni) can coem through and help us to win again plus everyone loves a home grown talent.

but seriously...

Hernanes is not Pirlo, not even close nor is he Kaka. The best way to describe him would be Gerrard. He can use both feet to pass, shoot and has great accuracy. His passing is top quality for someone coming from brazil and he has great dribbling skills. He can head the ball, defend well and attack as well. He is quite fast too.

He is a good player but he is no pirlo. He has good passing but he cannot drop the ball anywhere on the field he wants, however he has better dribbling skills than Pirlo and is much faster. He is faster than flamini, who i think is our fastest CM.

But I would rather keep Pirlo than sell him. He is irreplacable. Losing Pirlo at this point is worst than losing Kaka because our midfield doesn't function without him. The pressure he takes off our midfield by being able to send the ball anywhere in a flick of a kick is able to give time for our midfield to drop and cover and is able to transition the player form start to finish in a second. IF he is gone then we'll have to do quick one touch passing and run 10x as much, which at this point gattuso, ambrosini, seedorf, ronaldinho will end up tiring out at 70th minute and we'll start losing matches at the end of the game. We also do not have cover for these players so selling Pirlo at the current time would be counter productive. Kaka was a different story because he was not absoloutly necessary but Pirlo unlike Kaka is vital. If your recall games without him we have been barely able to score. He is a top asset and I value him as our most important player by far. If we lose him, god help leo because we are in deep waters. Hernanes cannot do pirlo's job, not even 1/4 of it, no one can. If we lose him we'll have to sign another midfielder on top of hernanes just to be able to have a chance at the top 3.
