Really should have looked at getting vargas..
Seems fiorentina and real are fighting it out for his services.
Was impressive against us, can actually put a good ball in. Think he defended pretty solidly too. Not sure how he's been all season though, but was certainly potential there.

If gattuso is going to leave we should go after diarra. Him and flamini can fight it out until one of them secures a spot or we can just directly bench ambro and use him for depth cover. He is a super-sub.
The good thing about diarra is that at max he will cost 15 mil. We can sell gattuso for around that price and replace him with diarra.
Diarra is 26, gattuso is 30.
Essien is impossible to get as abro doesn't need money. Only way of getting essien is kaka going to chelsea.

I would like to bring in another DM, or preferably a box-to-box player, if Rino was to leave. Somebody that could offer more than just thumping his chest and winning the ball back. A team like Milan needs players that can do things while in posession, as they have alot of it, and maybe even chip in with a few goals.

Moggi Gives Big Four Transfer Advice
Former disgraced Juventus transfer guru, Luciano Moggi, has revealed who he thinks the big four Serie A teams should invest in during the summer's transfer market.
Moggi, who was at the centre of the 2006 Calciopoli scandal, became famous for his scouting talents and tansfer deals at the Bianconeri. His biggest success was masterminding Zinedine Zidane's move from Bordeaux to Juventus in 1996. He was also responsible for luring players like Christian Vieri, Pavel Nedved and Gianluigi Buffon to Turin.
Although he recieved a five year ban from the game for his part in the 2006 scandal, he is still making a noise behind the scenes and he has shared his opinions on who the big boys in Serie A should buy.
"It's hard for Inter to strengthen their squad because they already have many superstars," Moggi told Il Sussidiario.
"They will only buy big if they let someone big leave but if they don't invest, they still have the capabilities of winning another title.
"Milan on the other hand need a goalkeeper, they can't get Buffon but they should go for Frey as an alternative.
"The Rossoneri also need a striker, someone like Luca Toni or Amauri perhaps maybe even Ibrahimovic. But they should go for Amauri as the other two maybe impossible targets.
"Juventus need to strengthen their midfield, they need to look at some of their older players and they have to strengthen their bench as well as the first XI.
"They have the Champions League next season and thus like the old times, they would need to reinforce accordingly.
"As for Roma, I would suggest they also try for Amauri because he would do well there. But given their circumstances with take overs, they may not be able to afford him."
All four clubs need to strengthen given their objectives next season. Milan have already stated that they will focus on Serie A while the other three all have their eyes set on Champions League glory. Amauri is set to join Juventus but Milan may have the chance to pounce if the Old Lady fails to land her man.

I believe in Moggi even with those events !

Strachan (spell) Celtic coach was asked about Artur Boruc ... And he said that Boruc has a contract and has to respect it. Then he took it personal by claiming that Ancelotti shouldn't push his weight around to tempt Boruc
He added that these days, the best keepers are in Poland and if Ancelotti wants one, he should go get one from there.

Well, Boruc has played 4 games against us recently and was superb in all 4 games. Certainly better than any keeper we've got at the moment, and better than most keepers I've seen.
As for Gattuso, I think it's a shame if he stays. I think this proves that the whole 'Milan family' thing does hurt us. He was not at his best last season and has been terrible this season, yet he'll no doubt keep either Ambro/Flamini out of the first XI next season.

Great news about Gattuso. thank god we're going to have great depth in midfield next year.
But for what it's worth, I think it all was a well made soap opera with Galliani as the director! now they're going to repeat the same sh1t they used to say last season when they didn't give up to Madrid's pressure to sell Kaka, that how convincing Gattuso to stay is a great move in the market, etc, etc. this is just a boring strategy, I won't get fooled again!

Well, after the 'Rino's staying' press conference, Galliani is quoted as having said that Milan will bring in 7 or 8 new players.

19 May is an important date because this is the day we started creating a new Milan, a winning Milan already next season. Later we will talk with the coach to see what his ideas are. The first objective will be the Scudetto, but we'll also try to win the Uefa Cup. We'll have

For the good of the club I think it would not have been the worst thing for rino to leave and maldini to retire. It would have been a good way to show the changing of the guard. Instead both will probably play on and we'll pretty much see the same team fielded week in week out. Hopefully its a good thing.

I think Rino staying is a good thing. I also think that Maldini playing another year is a good thing -- especially if, as Galliani states, Milan bring in 7 or 8 new players. There needs to be some continuity to the dressing room.
The source is not the most reliable (it's Corriere) but there's a report out that Milan has met with Sampdoria to figure out what to do about the co-ownership of Sammarco and also for Milan to inquire about Maggio (who's an RB. we do need one of those).
fresh_prince7
May 20 2008, 11:44 AM
The problem is whats galliani's definition of 'new' players.
So far we've got one in flamini and possibly two in lloris. Bringing back loan players shouldn't count, since there unlikely to get a game and hence not going to improve out depth.
Really hoping we can get some quality defenders, particularly with pace, since none of our defenders can really cope with that.

We should expect some of the players loaned out to come back and get their shot here. Lino and Boriello in particualar.
As for Brocchi...we should have sold him last year, when he still was worth something. Now we can get zero for him. But it doesn't matter anyway.
We need to focus on:
A. New LB and RB's - this is our prime target. If Zambrotta comes, the defensive section is pleased. But we still need help in the offensive section. We need someone with pace, a good cross and shot.
B. Keeper we can rely on. I'm in for Frey, Gomes or Abbiati. Experience should be the main criteria.
C. A new creative midfielder. To replace Gourcuff who should be sold or loaned out. It's clear that he's not Carlo's favorite.
