Darunia
Nothing new in those paragraphs, basically it says that Adebayor is too expensive for Milan, Gallani asked Berlusconi for money but he didn't get it. I don't speak italian but I freetranslated it and I tried to figure it out
Tennie
I'm too tired to easily parse the mixture of Italian and (computer translated?) English but I think Darunia has the basics.

They return to hunting Drogba , he has half price of Ade and with Torres to Chelsea completing they will have more chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Benitez said himself, if a bigger club comes in after a player, you have to let him go to further his career. Go on then Rafa, Chelsea are bigger, better and richer than you, sell up!

Veloso's agent said today that Milan is interested and that they'll talk after the euro ... (his clause is 30M€)

I can't see Milan spending that much, but y'never know, would be nice. Haven't seen much of him personally, but I've heard very good things about it.

We're being linked with every RB on earth at the moment.. it's too much to pay for him anyway.

Guys... BREAKING NEWS (dunno how reliable though).

In Romania, they say Mutu is a done deal for Milan. A deal around 15M/euros.

The same info was in 7Gold, an italian channel, some minutes ago. They say the deal is done.
*

I stand by my earlier comments about him that I don't think he can be a dependable striker at the very highest level. But I like him, so I will be very pleased with this signing.

He is a DMF no? unsure.gif
Jack Sparrow
I believe he's the Xabi Alonso type. Easily mistaken for the Pirlo type.
Devillito
If he can replace Pirlo, and Brocchi and Emo both out,
I'd welcome him.

But if he is a pure DMF,and any of those 2 idiot staying,
I'd be very pissed!!

We are over covered in that department i reckon.
han2503
If Mutu is the guy then I would accept it. I wouldn't put him in the WC category but he sure as hell beats the idea of bringing in Adebayor puke.gif

But since we are lessening expectations on the striker front we should at least look into a midfielder that could sub in for Pirlo or even taking Ambro's place, imo best options would be one of the Portugese duo, Veloso or Moutinho. Personally I would prefer Moutinho since he can play in any position of our midfield, even Kaka or Seedorf if neccissary
dst
So am I the only one who does not really like Mutu? He's good but come on...
He is certainly not THAT good and we do need someone THAT good!
I'd prefer Huntelaar or another box striker. That's the kind of player that would form a great duo with Pato in my view.
Anyway... supposedly we get Mutu. It's still not enough. We need van der Vaart. That guys is a very good player. He will replace Seedorf and he can also play in Kaka's and Mutu's position if one of them is not available.
But I still wonder why I'm day-dreaming like this? Mourinho would probably say I'm pirla. It's not going to happen, especially the Seedorf being replaced part... dry.gif

QUOTE (Portikins @ Jun 18 2008, 01:14 AM)
7Gold said it's 13M/euros + 2 players. Simic + Oddo but I'm not sure.
*

That would a rip-off!! He is in no way worth that much!

QUOTE (zdrossoneri @ Jun 18 2008, 01:16 AM)
If it is true, then there's a good chance that Ronaldinho's coming too! I honestly think Ronaldinho+Mutu would be good enough for the attack.
*

Ronaldinho also coming? There's a bigger chance Kaladze will go two consecutive games without making a grave mistake...

QUOTE (morgoth @ Jun 18 2008, 01:26 AM)
Now that I start to think of it, it's not really realistic, it means that Mutu prefers uefa cup over CL or he doesn't think Fiorentina has a good chance and prefers Milan?! unsure.gif I think it would be wise to wait until tomorrow ...
*

He needs money. He has to give 12m to Chelsea for the drugs incident even if he has appealed to that... he may win the appeal but right now his future is uncertain.

QUOTE (Portikins @ Jun 18 2008, 01:29 AM)
We can offer him better wages, better city, playing for Milan is not the same of playing for Fiorentina no mather what the Serie A table say. We're way superior.

There are fights you cannot win.
*

I don't think we could lure any player away from Fiorentina right now. And that is because Milan does not seem like a club with great ambitions right now. Before you people start cursing me, I need to say that this is how I see it and there's no point telling me it's not this way cause that's not going to change... I know that this might might be untrue though as we don't know what's going on under the table.

biggrin.gif I like the way that sounds. But there is not fight that's not worth fighting.

I don't think Mutu will be our only signing in attack after all those 'star striker' talk. unsure.gif
Jack Sparrow
Well, if we're dumping all star players, then I'd rather we took our 25 mill for Eto'o and did Mutu+Cassano+Cigarini and exchange Simic somewhere.

Maybe sell Brocchi and put in an extra 5 million to get Boruc. This isn't too ambitious and with what we've got on the bench, good enough for Serie A.

WITH MUTU I WILL STILL WELCOME HUNTELAAR THE I DEAL PARTNER FOR BOTH MUTU AND PATO. DIEGO IN SEEDORF PLACE AFTER NEXT SEASON.
armiss
I have some doubts about Mutu , he is not like a goal scoring machine but Eto'o is , but also i must say that Mutu's mistakes in front of goal are very few specially with great Mf's his goal average will be more , physically he is a bit strange but i think in Milan he will eat enough !!!!!!!
whoarethepatriots
Mutu is a good player. I wouldnt WC him, but for our transition period i think he is good enough. We really cant attract any better strikers than him at the moment.

The Veloso talks are positive. I havent seen him too much but there are vague resembelances of a mix of Gattuso and Pirlo. We should also go for Cigarini, his market value is around £5m, very reasonable considering his massive potential and ability

EDIT: Galliani has said Darmian has been promoted. Thats our Simic replacement then
armiss
i dont understand we dont pay 30 or 40 for Ade or Eto'o , how are we looking for Veloso with 20 when we know that he will not be the first choice and why we dont pay attention to Moutinho instead of Veloso , Moutinho is the best hire for Pirlo ????? devil.gif
KillerMax
I don't get what the management is thinking. Veloso? Really? He is a great DM. But we need a great AM. What the hell are we gonna do with all those defensive mids and no proper sub for Kaka...

I agree with Armisse. Moutinho is the better choice and he looks like he can perform well under pressure which is a must for a Milan player.

Ronaldinho To Milan Still Possible - Bronzetti

Milan transfer consultant and FIFA super agent Ernesto Bronzetti admits Ronaldinho could still move to the Rossoneri. And he is convinced that one of either Adebayor, Drogba or Eto'o will sign for the Milanese club.

Milan have been interested in the Brazilian play maker ever since the player dazzled San Siro during the 2006 Champions League semi final.

'Dinho is on his way out of Camp Nou following a miserable season last term where he was completely dropped from the squad.

Milan and Manchester City have been lying in wait but Chelsea have also joined the race to sign him. The Italians had their initial bid for the player turned down by Joan Laporta. City meanwhile doesn't really appeal to the player where as Chelsea still haven't made any real move for him.

The door is wide open for 'Dinho who could still move to any of the three clubs. The rumour mill is spinning out of control but Milan are staying calm and they believe Ronaldinho's capture is still on.

“Ronaldinho? It seems as if there is an agreement with Manchester City but I think it's absurd, ” Bronzetti told Sky Italia TG24

“However, the player is hoping that a deal can be reached with Milan or maybe even Chelsea or Inter.”

Bronzetti also revealed that Milan are still pushing for Arsenal's Emanuel Adebayor and Chelsea's Didier Drogba.

“The objectives are still Adebayor, Drogba or Eto'o and I am convinced one of the three will arrive,” concluded Bronzetti

Milan admit defeat in Ronaldinho transfer race

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has admitted the club cannot compete financially with Manchester City in the race to sign Ronaldinho.

Galliani said Milan and other Italian clubs are being squeezed out of several transfer moves as clubs in England, Spain and Germany have more money to spend.

'I cannot ignore that Italian football is now in fourth position in Europe behind England, Spain and Germany,' he said in Gazzetta dello Sport.

'We simply cannot compete with certain figures anymore.

'Manchester City have offered the Brazilian (Ronaldinho) 12 million euros (£9.5million) a year. We can only compete with that if they (Barcelona) give him away for free.'

sad... truly sad... but ast least there is some truth behind it. The only way for us to compete against the big teams now in the market is to have someone willing to spend big like abramov

A rip-off, really? I think for 7m euro's it's a good deal. Maybe you never saw him for Reading? With him they finished top 10, without him they got relegated. Obviously he was never going to be good enough to play for Chelsea, but I think it's great for a team like us. i saw this comment on goal.com in response to this and would like to post it. This imo is actually the most accurate interpretation i've seen of milan's style in the market and philosophy.

QUOTE
Fabio  Milan- At no point in this article did Galliani say that their was any crisis at all he just said that Milan would not pay stupid transfer fees or wages unless they are earnt like Kaka' has done. It is known at Milan that it is either a sizeable transfer fee or wage but never both together, that is why they would only sign Ronaldinho if he was for a cheap fee. Milan are one of if not the best run club in Italy & with all the money that no-one knows about from the young players that Milan either loan out or send out on co-ownerships they have spent the equivalent of no money at all interms of net spend over the 7 years(they earn 25 million euros a year from loans/co-ownerships). Milan basically either make a small profit or loss each & when you compare this to Inter who lose over a 100 million each year it shows how well run Milan are. They could bid for anyone with the knowledge that they are in fine financial shape & with Berlusconi's billions but Galliani just elects not to & I suppose you could say he is being either tight or sensible. As well they don't want to upset the family like atmosphere at Milan by making silly signings. In terms of how well run they are & the environment for players & staff Milan are easily the best in the world, the reason why nearly all their players are their for life. Sheva was the only top player that ever dared to leave & look at the mess he is in now. Milan show repect for all players & staff & in return they stay for life.

if fabio somehow reads this i tip my hat to you, world class post.

No he's a box to box. Decent enough. He kinda though he'd be second choice in Chelsea's mid-field that comprised Ballack, Lampard and Essien.

For Villa...I suppose a mid-field of Barry and Reo-Coker will give him some time to play. Good purchase for kurt's team. But Newcastle will kill them anyway.

OK. It's official. Galliani has gone mental. His words today:

"If Adebayor doesn't come, no foward will come. We got a NO from Arsenal but anything can happen. There's no negotiations for Eto'o or Drogba.
