Pirlo Slams Door On Barcelona

The midfield maestro has been linked with moves to several clubs in the past following his great form with the Rossoneri this term and there were rumours that he would be leaving if the club didn’t increase his wage deal.

However, he has restated his desire to stay on with the Rossoneri and he admits he wouldn’t leave even if the most tempting of offers came his way even though Barcelona are preparing to launch a mega bid for his services..

“I am not leaving Milan,” said the midfielder.

“It’s not a question of money at all. One million more or less will not make a difference.

“It’s the other things that count, not the money.

“I play for one of the most successful teams in Europe and this is what matters.”

The Rossoneri failed to light up Serie A this term and they ended up paying the price as they had to settle for a UEFA Cup place.

Pirlo is currently away with La Nazionale as he prepares to help them go for glory in the European Championship.

Italy get their tournament underway on June 9 against Holland.

we all knew that he didn't care for money anyways.

If there's a player in Portugal that I love his character, very profissional, [not a cnut like Cristiano, Quaresma, even like Veloso and his top-model look-like and care, etc] and top-player it's Joao Moutinho.

It's the captain of Sporting Lisbon [he was the youngest player with the armband] and a top-quality midfielder that can play in EVERY single place in the mid. Ofensive, defensive, the Seedorf, Ambro or the Pirlo place... he can do it.

I'd love if we get him but ONLY if we clean our midfielder: meaning Brocchi and Emerson out. Specially Brocchi.

With only 21 yo, Joao Moutinho already played 146 official matches with Sporting Lisbon. (!!!)

His idol is Rui Costa (Moutinho was/is a Benfica fan). He has some similarities like good passing and vision. Good tactically too.

Besides Milan [now and probably b/s] he's being linked with Man Utd, Arsenal and Barcelona.

If they are serious about him , Good Job , becuz we really need young spirits, i hope it's true

i dont believe it. Right now the only think i believe is news about a striker. Moutinho/veloso etc are just media made up by press.
whoarethepatriots
I rate Moutinho pretty highly too. It would be incredible if we could sign him, but as Porty said Brocchi and Emo must go (i was saying the same thing about a potential Sammarco swoop too come to think of it)

We are distinctly lacking Portugese influence especially after Rui left.

Fingers crossed for a move

god please for moutinho smile.gif he's a great prospect...exactly what we need

now mediaset is reporting mutu-milan with either bonera or brocchi to be included in a transfer
vnata001
i hate these sorts of rumours..please don't let this be a tease...moutinho would be way too good to be true!

Btw family, i think that borriello is going to shine for us, i have little doubt. His first stint here is completely comparable to Gourcuff's. Used too sparingly to ever gain the confidence to show his quality. Showed glimpses of it but was never given the chance to hit form. We loaned him to Genoa, and the guy scored 19 times with the average service that he was provided..things will be different with kaka, seedorf, pirlo, and zambrotta around and his renewed confidence. Don't sleep on marco.

Lets sign Moutinho, Zapata, and Sheva! (the more and more i think about it, i would die to see the man net his first goal for us on his second debut, it would evoke more emotion for me than seeing anybody else in a milan jersey hit the net (*unless its Benzema*) i personally forgive the guy. if you remember when he left he was so coy about announcing his departure..prlly cuz he didn't want to..but he made the right choice for his family, and that shows character. bring his *** back! it makes me sad watching him sit the bench for stupid chelsea behind stupid anelka.

My realistic dream squad:

Shevchenko, Pato, Boriello, Inzaghi

Kaka, Clarence, Moutinho

Ambrosini, Gattuso, Flamini

Zambrotta, Nesta, Zapata, Bonera, Oddo

goals would fly in from everywhere.

@zdr, I'm not a big fan of Mutu either but you have to admit that he is class, and if getting Mutu means we get rid of Brocchi then I'm all for it

Moutinho is a dream transfer for me. Maybe if he played for benfica we could have had a chance because Rui might have helped us but right now I'll see it as b/s.

I like Moutinho a lot. He'd be a good buy IMO, but he won't come cheap. Don't mind if they include Brocchi in the deal but would really prefer to keep Bonera around. (by the way, not sure if it's been mentioned but Moutinho is wearing the #10 jersey for Portugal during the Euros).
KillerMax
Well, Milan do need to replace Gourcuff now... And they probably know they need to do a better job this time. But I think Moutinho's age is gonna be a factor. Milan will probably opt for someone more "experienced" for Carletto's liking.

moutinho and gourcuff are two different stories. Moutinho is actually an upcoming wc player while gourcuff was like lloris, he wasn't anything special until the big clubs took notice. Im pretty sure carlo will stfu and play him over emo/brocchi and maybe over seedorf.......

Gourcuff » Flamini.

Not the same roles. Not the same type of player. But who cares? WE ARE MILAN! A POSTO COSÌ! PRIMO IN RANKING UEFA! cool.gif

Anyway...

Mutu is a players I like a lot. In conclusion it means he'll never be in Milanello.
Tennie
The Mutu talk seems to me to be of the 'I want a better contract' variety. Not all that sure he'll really move. Course he might need the better contract if news of a breach of contract judgment against him for his cocaine use while at Chelsea is true. I saw a report that indicated that the judgment was somewhere in the 7m pound range.
morgoth
G.Dos Santos have signed a contract with Tottenham for 6M€ (+4M€ depending on appearances) and Pjanic sign for Lyon for 7.5M€.

well I too believe mutu is just for better contract and if gallaini is said to be believed then any other stiker ( not in his list) is fantasy

Wenger: Milan Will Get Answer They Deserve

Milan's vice-president Adriano Galliani has been making it clear through the media that his club want Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor - but Arsene Wenger is becoming increasingly angry about the way some of the Gunners' Champions League rivals have been attempting to unsettle his key players by declaring a public interest without speaking to the North London club first.

Wenger is still trying to cope with the fall-out from Inter Milan's  and Barcelona's declared interest in Alexander Hleb, who now apparently wants to leave the Emirates Stadium.

As for Adebayor, his recent comments have been ambiguous, or at least open to interpretation. He has claimed he wants to stay with the Gunners - but has also said he's more interested in winning medals than playing beautiful football.

Wenger, though,is adamant that the Togolese striker will be going nowhere.

"Adebayor's under firm contract. If AC Milan are interested they just have to call me and get the answer they deserve," Wenger said.

Wenger also assured Arsenal fans about key midfielder Cesc Fabregas, saying of the highly coveted Catalan, who has been courted by Real Madrid and Barcelona : "Fabregas will be at Arsenal next season - that looks obvious to me."

Dont worry wenger, we wont be calling you. We said we were looking for a WC striker not an average striker.

We got authorized by Barcelona to talk with Eto'o.

Anyway, some rumours that the thing didn't go in our way. No deal between Eto'o agent and Milan.

laugh.gif The guy is still bitter... Arsenal are paying the price for investing too much in youth and not enough on word class players. Their squad is pretty average compared to other big teams. The sooner they start investing in some experienced world class players, the sooner they'll be back on track. But Wenger is looking for answers in the wrong places...

Maggio joins Milan wish-list Saturday 7 June, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Adriano Galliani lists five strikers – including Didier Drogba, Emmanuel Adebayor and Dimitar Berbatov – Milan also move for Christian Maggio.

“There are negotiations in place and if a big name arrives then we will send out Alberto Paloschi on loan,” explained the general manager.

The newspapers have been full of reports linking them with various different players around the world, although Galliani broke his silence to confirm there was truth in some of those stories.

“The names are the ones you have been reading about: Eto’o, Drogba, Adebayor, Gomez and Berbatov. Any of them would be fine.”

Arsenal have already lost Mathieu Flamini to the Rossoneri on a free transfer and Arsene Wenger is determined not to see Adebayor leave as well.

"I am very happy here. Reports which suggest I have threatened to quit are rubbish," insisted 24-year-old Adebayor.

Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o is rumoured to be close to Inter, as is Drogba following Jose Mourinho’s arrival.

Tottenham forward Berbatov is looking for a new challenge away from the Premier League, while Mario Gomez plies his trade for Stuttgart.

Meanwhile, the Rossoneri have already captured Gianluca Zambrotta from Barcelona and are looking to bring in another wide player.

“Milan’s interest has become evident in the last few weeks, so they are talking to Sampdoria,” revealed Maggio’s agent, Massimo Briaschi on Radio Kiss Kiss.

“Napoli were also interested, but I haven’t met any of their representatives since January. At the moment we are in negotiations with the Rossoneri, but also waiting to see if there are any other offers.”

Right-winger Maggio has had his best ever season with Sampdoria, scoring nine goals in 29 Serie A appearances.

He was expected to be part of Italy’s Euro 2008 squad, but was not included in Roberto Donadoni’s list.

Eto'o Wants Milan - Bronzetti

Milan transfer consultant, Ernesto Brozetti, has revealed that Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o wants to join the Rossoneri.

The striker’s agent Jose Maria Mesalles met with Milan chief Adriano Galliani in Milan on Friday evening and the pair spoke about an economic deal for the Barcelona striker.

Eto’o wants an €8m per season deal but Milan only want to offer €7m because the club is afraid other players in the squad will ask for better salaries.

Talks are still on-going as Milan try and reach a deal for the player and Bronzetti reveals that Eto’o is keen on the idea of a switch to San Siro.

“Eto’o has expressed his desire to come to Milan,” Bronzetti told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

“We have met with Eto’o’s agent after president Laporta gaves us permission to.

“The idea is a four-five year deal and if we reach an agreement with the player then we will hold talks with Barcelona."

The Rossoneri have already signed one player from the Blaugrana when they took on Gianluca Zambrotta last week.

They are now trying hard to lure Eto’o to San Siro as they strengthen in order to mount a serious Scudetto challenge next season.

It seems we are serious !!!!! dry.gif

We have Favalli for left
whoarethepatriots
Sampdoria have confirmed we are in talks for Maggio (yes!) however they wont accept anything because they are waiting for a few other offers. Stil i remain optimistic

Young gun Luca Antonini is set to be recalled from Empoli if we can find an agreement with them

Arsenal have told us to f off over Adebayor which is a good thing. It seems they have no intention of negotiating with us

So my morning went from great to excellent to magnificent

Also Abete (one of Italy's stars at Toulon) dosent want to stay with Empoli in Serie B. Ideally he said he wants to go to Napoli but his agent has said we want him back and there is the possibility of playing for a big club

Fingers crossed for an Abate recall.

In more dissapointing news Braida (i think) has denied rumours linking us with Sportings young stars. If he is telling the truth is another matter. He said there would be no room for them, but why can we accomodate Emo and Brocchi?

Abate? YAY! I was really impressed by him. Silly idea probably, but with the way he was rampaging up and down the right flank in the Toulon games, I wonder if Carletto + Zambrotta could train him to be a RB (he looked like a younger Cafu) even though he plays in midfield now.

Both Cagliari and Sporting are linked with Storari, but he could also find himself in Empoli and Catania.
On an other hand now that Paolo has signed a new contract, Simic can be sold. Galatasaray ans Celtic are the favourites.
gal_kenny
Guys i think Barcelona looks more determined that AC Milan in signing new players..THEY just signed Daniel Alves from Sevilla..i'm jealous of dat signing..AC Milan needs to step up..I don't see why we can't sign a portuguese..Barcelona would be on fire next season..for real...
Tennie
Well, they said that about Barcelona last year and we all saw how that worked out.

I don't particularly care what Barca do in the transfer market.

I DO care what Milan's doing and as for Braida's flat denial...well, if he was being honest, I'd be disappointed because I rate both of those Portuguese midfielders very highly. I wonder if, however, his comment is part of the standard Milan negotiating strategy, in which case it's not really a 'we don't want them'.

The problem with doing what Barca did last season and this season is they're putting the expectations way too high. They finished 3rd and made the CL semi-finals.. and that's considered a bad season!
morgoth
Barcelona paid 30M€ for Alves and we paid 8M€ for Zambrotta, yet I'm sure in the next 3 years Zambro's performances will surpass the Brazilians ... Just because people nowadays lost all consideration for the money doesn't mean we should do so!

About the Portuguese players, I think what Braida said is a logical thing for next year (maybe the next 2), with Carlo on the bench I don't think 21 years old player stand a chance unless they're already established (Messi, C.Ronaldo, Fabregas). But this doesn't mean that they'll never wear Milan shirt in the next 3 years ...
