AC Milan is a very interesting team to play with.(the default team that is). You really have to play the typical 'Milan' way, but if you do, it's a thing of beauty. The players are just so well suited for it. And really builds up skill.

I take Valencia because with their lesser transfer budget it becomes interesting.Though I suspect I've become a one-player team with Villa.

Zambrotta To Milan – Any Moment Now

AC Milan are just days, possibly hours, away from completing the summer signing of Barcelona star Gianluca Zambrotta, according to Controcampo.

Speculation that Zambrotta is set for a return to Serie A with Milan is not a new topic, indeed the question on everyone’s lips is not if the transfer will be completed, but when.

The 31-year-old signed for Barcelona from Juventus following the Calciopoli crisis in the summer of 2006. He has not truly demonstrated his full potential in Catalonia, and along with his wife has become increasingly homesick.

Controcampo says that Milan officials have been in lengthy discussions with Zambrotta's agent, Beppe Bonetto, and virtually all details regarding the deal have been agreed upon.

An announcement is expected within a number of days, possibly even hours. Zambrotta has also played for Como and Bari, and has starred 70 times for Italy, scoring twice.

He played at the European Championships of 2000 and 2004, and the World Cups of 2002 and 2006, the latter of which he has a winners medal from.

Zambro signing is almost done.

Even though he's 31, I still like him.

He can play for at least 3 seasons, and untill then, we might find his sub.

Honestly i would prefer Rafinha over Eboue,considering he would provide great width on attacking though Eboue is better defensively.

i would bring Antonini and let Abate stay with one more year at Empoli,maybe Di Gennaro could join him next year at Empoli.

By the way,According to today's La Gazzetta,Sheva's Milan transfer depents on Carlo,if he doesnt give his okay for this transfer,this transfer wont happen.

dont you think that if our management came out and said "we are looking for top class signings. We are interested in signing Benzema, Gomez, blah blah.." these transfers would happen? that is what all the other clubs do. They make their interest public, pursue the players, and get them. I've heard that Benzema has a pre contract for Madrid already. Instead, we are arrogant, and we tried to negotiate the transfer fees way down..half the time end up disrespecting the other clubs' management, and nothing is accomplish. Now, For the Last TIME. Lets sign..if we want to be cheap, then FINE lets be cheap but DECISIVE.

Looks like a good/great roster to me. How much did it cost? about 30 mil. I didn't even mention Yoann. Exchange him for a young frenchman? Nasri/Menez? - and add him to the list of creative players. We could sign Benzema/Gomez for at least 30, or we could retool our roster Smartly and still be back on top quickly. On on form Sheva, Pato, Kaka can be as deadly as any.

Dear Mr. President Silvio: A lot of fans (as me) are sick and tired of watching other Big Teams ... go aggresively after the players they want ... AND WE NEVER GET ANY OF THEM ... at the end we listen and read excuses like: "We went after him but unfortunately he signed for other team". Some of us are not buying those excuses.

Does our team need money? are we broke? are we not ambitious anymore? does our staff need a change? are we crazy? are we playing with the stock market? or ARE WE CHEAP?

If a team is trying to do everything it can do within its possibilities and losses .. I'm OK but nothing pisses off a fan more than listening to the team's chiefs praise, praise, praise, praise, remember the Cups we won last year, remember, remember and remember AND DO S*** FOR THE FUTURE.

I don't think the team, as a business, would like the fans to remember and remember and remember ... and wait till you win again to come back, buy tickets and shirts.

We know that our team has the history but we also know the team has the money ... our possibilities are just like other Big Teams have (yeah, just like the one the are more "lucky" than us and land the players and pursue them like maniac.

i completely agree 100% absolutely with both of those posts. Benzema, Pato, Kaka would garauntee us much silverware. AND Yoann can be great, he needs more playing time. If we had made the correct transfers, and not put ourselves in this mini crisis, Gourcuff would have gotten more playing time in games that we were winning, and he could integrate into the winning environment, and learn what it takes..instead he's been put in during high pressure situations where he must excel or be benched. that's not the right environment for a young, inexperienced player to step in and perform.

Our biggest transfer follies are in the striker department.
- Oli was never given a chance (i remember him hitting quite a few posts with beautiful strikes, and im sure he would have settled in well if Ka-Pa-Ro had lasted longer. His movement and confidence improved once he started playing alongside Ronaldo. I still think it could be smart bringing him back. his pace was undeniable, and his speed could be a huge factor- oli and pato have major pace, and oli seems more fit as a 3rd striker option.
- Boriello (no chance - never played)
- Ronaldo (practically speaking this was the faliure signing - depending on Ronnie to carry the load, knowing full well how he had declined in fitness the last year in madrid. Milan was stubborn/arrogant after Sheva left i feel.
- Gila (a victim of Sheva leaving - needs a support striker to play off of in our type of style. As a lone striker we need someone with much better passing and a little more pace than Gila had. He was purchased to be a second fiddle (next pippo), not the superstar focal point.

Signing Benzema would ensure our future. It would be worth it, and we have money to spend. Benzema/Kaka/ Pato would immediately make us a Scudetto and CL heavyweights. Then, just a few intelligent signings that would keep the balance of youth and experience in the side..and Milan would be back and great next year. no doubt about it, this guy is an amazing striker, and next to pato we would rival Rooney/Ronaldo, Ibra/Drobga (plausible).

Unattended and clamorous meeting tonight between AC Milan Executive manager Adriano Galliani and Ronaldinho´s brother and agent Roberto de Assis. This meeting is a clear sign of the italian club to re-open the negotiation for the brazilian player, probably caused by the fear that the Barcelona star could finally move to city rivals Inter.

That Gomez thing seems to be a wrong translation. 50 million is the amount of money Stuttgarts insurance valued him. It's not what they demand for him. 30 million should be more realistic.

I heard two rumours today (forgot where from)

Firstly Paloschi will be swapped for full ownership of Borriello, either that or Matri, Abate and another youth product we have loaned to them (i dont think the management will let Paloschi go permenantly to Genoa - Status not very credible)

Secondly is that Braida will step down as transfer manager, he will however stay on in an "advisory" role - This one sounds more credible and perhaps shapes the way for Mourinho to come who wants full control of transfer

I've heard Paloschi-to-Samp rumors. Don't know if they're very reliable, though. Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic, but I suspect the team will want to keep Palo at the club.

Loaning him would not be a bad idea at all. Selling him, even half of him... would be stupid...

I read (on goal.com i think) that Doria wanted him on loan along with ownership (or co-ownership) of Sammaraco(!)
