Danielle de Rossi, Didier Drogba, René Adler, Andrea Barzagli, David Villa and Xabi Alonso would be nice. Just some ideas. Maybe tommorow I might have few more (constructive) thoughts on this.

ya those transfers would be great.

i think one of our main problems lies in the midfield. there a few seedorf type players out there. honestly we it would be so much easier to play winger cuz theres so many quality ones out there.

I'll try something like that.

Funny how I already got 3 sms on my mobile. Some friends laughing at Arsenal win and 2 of those wrote in the end: "Mourinho will be your coach soon".

Some portuguese forums about football talking about Milan-Arsenal already stated the same.

Kaka rings the changes
Tuesday 4 March, 2008

A desperately disappointed Kaka admits Milan must make changes at the end of this season to revitalise the squad.

“At the end of the season many players reach the end of their contracts and the club will decide what signings to make,” he commented.

The European and World Player of the Year saw his dreams of a second consecutive Champions League collapse with a 2-0 home defeat to Arsenal.

“Tomorrow and the day after will be the most difficult. The Champions League was our objective and now that is gone we must focus on at least trying to achieve fourth place.

“This team has done a great deal over the past few years for its fans and players. Unfortunately this season it went this way.”

Carlo Ancelotti fielded a trident attack, but in 180 minutes they failed to score, even with Pippo Inzaghi and Alexandre Pato spearheading the front line.

“Arsenal played very well in both legs and we lost against a team that played better than we did. When I got the ball and tried to run forward on the counter, myself, Pippo and Pato weren’t sharp enough to do anything better.

“It is an unfortunate setback, but these defeats help you to mature.”

With Milan’s exit there are two Italian sides left in the competition, but both face extremely difficult second legs.

“I think Roma have a good chance of qualifying. They’ll struggle against Real Madrid, but won the home leg and are playing excellent football right now,” said Kaka.

“Inter have less possibility of going through, as we have faced Liverpool twice and they are a very tough team to beat.”

Why? I say let him stay but don't let him play!

Of course I'll still say Forza Milan. But I also say Forza Kaka for what he said after the match. Big changes need to be made. But I still, even after this season turns out to be a complete failure, don't think galliani is capable of that.

Who'm would I like to see?

GK:
For me René Adler is definetely the man. His incredibly good for a 23 yo GK. It'll take much money, much patience and all our persuasion skills to sign him though. I can't imagine him to sit on the bench as Fillipo mentioned it earlier though. A talented goalie like him is way too ambitioned to accept the bench.
Other O.K. option would be Frey, Robert Enke and maybe Curci. Amelia wouldn't be good enough IMO.

Defense:
A world class CB or last someone who could become that should be of existential interest for us. Ramos would be my first choice....just love that guy. A fighter a leader and extraordinary talent (and he's NOT a RB IMO).
Otherwise Andrea Barzagli, Per Mertesacker (Bremen) or Kolo Toure would be nice. (In a confused moment I was thinking of Wigans Paul Scharner....a retarded, but he'd be nice to scare other teams...).
Another RB and another LB would be good too. I really dunno here. Alves, Jansen, Zambro (very likely) and Rafinha were coming to my mind though.

Midfield:
We need more goals from our midfield. Kaka will always be marked by at least two players if we don't sign someone for this department. Diego would be cool, or at least Xabi Alonso /but he doesn't score that often). Montolivo, although he's not a goalscorer would be great too. He has that special something it needs. On dream mode I'd go for Bayern Toni Kroos, he might just be the next deep lying playmaker and shows some amazing moves for an 18 yo. But it'll be impossible to sign him...

Attack:
DIDIER DROGBA all the way. Just what we need. A strong player unlike all our other strikers and and when he jumps it's almost like he's stopping in the air to head the ball. Rafael van der Vaart would be great too (although Max doesn't like his name). A great second striker with a tremendous left foot and he offers some creativity too.
I certainly don't want to see Amauri in Milan. It would mean another just average striker in our attack and we don't need that.

But hey...I've been saying this for a year now and no one listened...
Darunia
First off, Zambrotta + Drogba. My problem with them is that they are both above 30. It's time Milan invest in some youth. Better alternatives would be Dani Alves and Benzema, those two would be amazing but expensive. Need a GK like Frey, maybe include Gila in one of the deals. A creative midfielder is needed too, and depth at CB.

We have depth at CB, we just need a worldclass DC to replace maldini

Bonera

Kaladze
Simic
Maldini

Fullbacks should be a priority as should a DC a MF and a world class striker

We don't have that much depth, Maldini is leaving and Simic might follow him out. We need a worldclass DC true.

I would love Buffon but Juve's not selling him unless they miss out on CL (unlikely)

Sacking ancellotti? i'm not in support of that. he has the true milan and italian spirit. if we bring in other expert or mourinho he may help us win trophies. but the tradition of milan will be astake. we just need to sign young players in all department of the field.
Losing to arsenal is hard to accept even up till now it still look like a dream to me but i think that is the right result we deserve now, cos that we pave for changes. the old and tired legs has to retire or go elsewhere. DIDA, KALAC, CAFU, MALDINI, BROCHII, EMERSON AND INZAGHI, they all have to leave milan. Gilardino has spent three consecutive seasons with us without any impact are we still expecting any thing from him? he has to go also.
Let welcome the like of DANI ALVES, LAHM, BARZAGLI, DIEGO, BENZEMA AND DROGBA. Alves should reaplace Oddo, he has ware out maybe is not even his fault signing wing back at 30 is bad that is why i'm not even in support of signing zambrotta again. Dani Alves will fit in in the right back position, lahm will replace Maldini in left back since Jankulovski always struggle with injuries. Barzagli we be a good back up for Nesta or even replace Kaladze at 30 we should not expect any thing better from him again. Diego will be a good back up for Kaka and a long time replacement for seedorf, if Diego is in the midfield of Milan, the midfield we look more fresh with a lot of aggility, pace, skills and creativity unlike the one we saw against Arsenal. no one to support Kaka and no one to understand Pato. building an attack on Kaka, Pato and Benzima will be great and unstopable. if possible Drogba should be included and we should recover Oliviera cos that will give the team more depth and options in attack since Inzaghi and Gilardino should leave.
But there is a big question we should ask ourselve, is Milan ready to spend and get rid of these old soldier and unworthy milan players?.
Tennie
I'm not that sure that we'll see a new coach in Milan next year. However, maybe Carletto will leave.

If we're going to play the 'close your eyes and point at a picture of the 1990 squad' method of picking a new coach, it really could be just about anyone. The only ones ruled out are MVB and Il Capitano.

If Milan's going to go outside the family - and I'm not sure they will - I'd prefer Lippi.

QUOTE
In the summer of 2001, he was named the coach of AC Milan turning down offers from big clubs like FC Barcelona and Liverpool. Immediately he signed Rui Costa and Umit Davala to the club. He transformed AC Milan's system, playing with a system very similar to the Total football style of Rinus Michels. It was a simple 4-3-1-2 formation with Rui Costa as the playmaker. While he was coaching AC Milan, the team reached the third round of the UEFA Cup. However, after several disappointing results, he was terminated and making his AC Milan career last only 5 months.

At least he got Rui biggrin.gif

New coach means new players, which is good. I could see Rikjaard coming along with Zambrotta.

hey guys...i was thinking, we might have Maldini as coach next year...or even Maldini + Costacurta....or at least having them as asistan managers...

what considers transfers...

Akinfeev/Boruc...forget buffon and frey

Barzagli/Felipe/Zapata (we need someone from serie A)

Zambrotta

Modric (Would be best ever solution for our midfield, can play in pirlo's position, seedorf's position, kaka's position and even in gattuso's position)

Mancini i would love, maybe we could train him back for a full back, he was marked as new cafu when he came to roma

Drogba/Benzema/Pazzini

Robert "10" Baggio? Not a bad choice, but I'm not sure about his credentials and technical skills as a coach. Honestly speaking though, I'm pretty open with the choice of a coach, be it the Mourn Man, or Lippi or even - dare I say it - Baresi. We do need some fresh tactics to kick start a new era. So yeah, Carlo can stay or if he prefers to leave it's fine by me. He's given his best to Milan, in whatever capacity you think of. dry.gif

That would be my choice over 'the challenged one' any time.
whoarethepatriots
Having a world class striker can make all the difference; look at Torres and Liverpool, so that should be a major priority.

I am against Drogba as he would be purely a short term option, which is something we dont need. In Business terms that would be developing our workforce, which is something we are guilty of not doing

Right choice in my opinion. Considering how much crap we put on over Carlo (granted he's not in the same league as Maldini and is a rigid old rabbit), but still Paolo would look better as some one who works with the club, ala Leonardo. king.gif

QUOTE (mishale @ Mar 6 2008, 01:42 AM)

About time, I'd say, for Baresi. Not to mention, he's ten times more passionate about Milan than Carlo. Hypothetically speaking, of course. tongue.gif
Tennie
There are also a couple of other options from the youth team coaching ranks: Filippo Galli and Chicco Evani have both been rather successful (Evani's team won the scudetto for the berretti), etc. They're also both family. Additionally, Mauro Tassotti has his coaching license and Billy Costacurta is working on his as we speak.
acid911
Billy would be a decent choice too, but I'd rather he had a little more experience, and then by all means he can make himself available. Of course, I'd prefer to see Baresi more than Billy at this time.

I won't mind Lippi either. Or the ex-Chelsea dude for that matter, with all his attitude problems. Someone who can at least motivate the players, which I doubt Carlo can. We should have come in steaming out after the second half yesterday, instead our intensity dropped by the minute. sad.gif
Besfort
What we need

a GK
a RB
a CB
a LB
2 Midfielders
and 2 strikers.

Goalkeeper

My picks: Frey, Amelia, Kameni.
Frey is doing good lately, but he is an injury prone (exactly what we don't need) will make us suffer even more when he's out.
Kameni, is a goalkeeper that can make wonder saves, but also concede goals that even my grandpa would held it. He's still young and can become better, but right now we need someone who is able to get some clean sheets most of games.
Amelia is the best goalkeeper in Italy right now, after Buffon of course. I've seen Livorno games many times, and I've seen that he won a lot of points to them.
I've seen him catching the ball like an apple, after an extremely powerful shot was made.
My choice: Amelia

Right-Back

My picks: Zambrotta, Alves, Miguel, Cicinho.
Zambrotta, once the best wing-back in the world, now struggling to find his best at Barcelona, is a great chance for us to get him, considering his homesickness + He does not go very well with Spanish play style.
We can get him on cheap + has 2-3 more years to give from his legs and teach Oddo how to be great in his position.
Alves is also a great possibility for us to get him, after his "every day" comments about wanting to leave Sevilla for a bigger club.
We are a big club, we had his hero (Cafu) here, If our management would be ready to splash some cash out there, I don't think he would reject such a wonderful club like Milan.
Miguel, the Valencia Right-back, has a great potential of being a player.
The unknown-before Benfica player, was the one to steal Paulo Ferreira's place in Portugal's national team.
I like his speed, his dribbling skills and his crosses. Surely one of the best Right-backs in the world.
Cicinho The Roma wing-back, was a starter for Brazil in Confederation's Cup, when they won the trophy.
I was so impressed, when I saw his games, his moves and his ability to pass the player he had in front of him.
I think we can get him too. Watching him most of times as a back-up of Panucci or Cassetti.

Everyone is great there, but my choice would be Zambrotta, considering his experience he has in Italian football.

Left-Back
My picks: Lahm, Taiwo, Vargas.

Lahm Young + Talent.
Always like to see Bayern play, just because of him. He plays like he knows football for ages.
Taiwo is another young defender, with a monster shot and with great defensive abilities to stop a player that comes to his position.
Impressed in African cup of nations.
Vargas the Roberto Carlos of Catania. No need to say more, since everyone that watches Serie A has seen him play.

My choice: Lahm

Midfielders

My picks: Raul Garcia, De Rossi, Cigarini.
Raul Garcia, the Atletico Madrid center midfielder can become a great in years. Would not be a bad choice, since he can replace Pirlo anytime.
De Rossi will sure become Roma symbol, when Totti will retire. I know it's almost impossible to get him, but would really add depth in our squad with his gentle playing style.
Cigarini is surely Pirlo's heir. I could see him giving 101% against us, just to make our management's mind to give it a try for him.

My choices: Cigarini and Raul Garcia since we can't get De Rossi.

Strikers
My picks: Benzema, Aguero, Drogba, Shevchenko.

My choice: Shevchenko and Aguero.
acid911
Very interesting choices, Besfort. I'd love both Alves and Zambo, considering the later can Italian can play at both the left and right sides. And oh, I can bet my sweet Google, Shevchenko won't be coming back. It would be disastrous for him after how he left, and to come back now with his tail between his legs. I'm sure he'll stay at Chelsea for another 2-3 years and then return to Dynamo Kiev to end his career there.

But then again, this is football we're talking about, so anything can happen.

Okay. As I said before. I love Zambrotta. But we need speed, youth, freshness on the RB or LB. We need a man who can attack, cross. Zambro isn't bad for that but never the first choice. We need a new Cafu or Sergio. Someone who has a +C/-B in defensive work and a A in offensive...
