If accepted, it's a very well timed gamble on our part.

By the way, that same article says that Genoa paid €4 million for Acerbi to us. So, we basically got money + Constant's half for that monstrosity of Acerbi? Awesome. biggrin.gif

Adriano Galliani has dropped another hint that Milan are pushing for Mario Balotelli, as reports emerge Kevin-Prince Boateng could be included in the €20m deal.

The Rossoneri Vice-President had said on Saturday that SuperMario was 99.9 per cent unlikely to arrive.

“Is it still 99.9 per cent? No, now it’s 99.5 per cent,” smiled Galliani on Milan Channel.

There are numerous reports that agent Mino Raiola has flown to Manchester in order to present Milan’s €20m offer.

Rai Sport suggest that Boateng could be included as part of the deal to swing it in the Rossoneri’s favour.

Many sources claim that Monday will be decisive in negotiations for Balotelli.

Meanwhile, previous transfer target Didier Drogba has reportedly agreed a transfer to Galatasaray, where he will play alongside Wesley Sneijder.

Why would any team want Boateng when they have Nasri and Silva.

Wee point: I think Balotelli has lacked effort from day 1. But there's only one club he supports and maybe we'll get the talent he has along with effort too.

He WILL get red cards. He WILL bring controversy. But we need someone with magic up front to help El Sha - Balotelli is a slightly poor man's Ibra. And I'll take that.
Jack Bauer
City are willing to accept €23m now for Balotelli, but Milan stand firm at €20m, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Good move.

This is more like a move that could set us back.

What we really neded in this squad is a pure attacking midfielder. Not another prima punta when we're filled to the brim with them and playing all of them in a terrible 4-3-3 set-up

So what happens now? Bench Pazzini to play Balo (which would be the logical solution) or push Balo wide and do to him what's being done to SES already after all that money spent. And what is the wage that we're going to give him? Because if he's about to start earning 6m per season I'll once again talk about how the Silva sale was nothing but a desperation for a quick buck and not something done for our survival in the future or FFP

Don't worry bro....Napoli will spend $30M on SES now....imagine what Berlu will sell him for 1~3 years later 96.gif

Everyone whined and moaned when we signed Ibra too. We don't need an attacking midfielder, we don't even use that position anymore. We need a class CB and we need Balotelli. Sell Robinho. 3rd Place.

His wage will be €5 million per season, which I guess is alright considering Pato left and Robinho most likely will also leave in summer. On the other hand, the money we'll be paying to City will be around €20 million, payable in installments. So, it's not as bad as it looks.

Balotelli-SES is a fantastic pairing. With Bojan behind them we'd have a great attack. Too bad Allegri will keep playing this lousy 4-3-3 formation.

Was Ibra as good as Balotelli when he was 22? Still, they're different players. Ibra has vision and creativity, Balo is your typical striker.

Ibra was a proven (league) winner on multiple teams while Balo still have soooooo much to prove. It seems like he fell in love with the bad boy image and performing much better in the tabloids than on the field. Plus, Ibra never was that crazy.

That's what I meant. Also, they are both bad boys, but in a different way. Ibra never tended to be self destructive.

Ibra is a whole different type of trouble, but Ibra is a proven winner, team leader, etc. He's carried multiple teams to title winning seasons and that's a known fact. Ibra is mostly ego, that does bring in a certain amount of trouble, but it has nothing to do with the Balo level of crazy where he's constantly in some form of trouble with another member of the team.

And no, we do not use an AM anymore, but does that mean that playing a 4-3-3 with the 3 upfront being pure strikers is right? Or on any footballing level logical??

Had we brought in either Kaka or Sneijder Allegri would have had no option but to revert back to the diamond. Which would have enabled us to make the best use of our players, and not have SES playing out of position and now most likely the 20m Balotelli ALSO playing out of position. Because if Allegri keeps insisting with the 4-3-3 that would mean that we'd be playing like this upfront

SES--Pazzini--Balo

Which is something that is too stupid to even comprehend.

Either that or he drops Pazzini and plays Balo in his rightful position but we all know how Allegri is with players and their natural and most logical placement of the pitch. Even now you have him playing Niang on the right wing when Bojan is sitting idle on the bench is enough of a sin in footballing terms

Niang adds VERY little to our game. Filippo put it very correctly yesterday when he said that Niang is exactly the type of player that Allegri drools over as he's essentially a "defensive winger". All he does is run aimlessly up and down, wins a couple of balls and puts in one or 2 decent crosses throughout an entire match. But the fact that he's running and huffing and puffing is what draws Allegri's simple footballing mind in. He's the perfect specimen of what Allegri absolutely LOVES in a player. It's the only explenation as to why he's playing him on the wing, instead of the smarter, more skillful, but less hard working Bojan.

That being said, you're now going to drop a 10+ goal scorer so far this season and keep playing a runner for no reason? Thus, in Allegri's simple mind that turns into Balo going to the wing, because by Allegri's standard, Balo is the epitome of skillful winger rolleyes.gif

If it were up to me our attack would be this

SES--Balo
Bojan

But we all know that Allegri would never go for something that actually makes sense that would actually help in our current woeful attacking play
Danny

Dracoris too.

Personally I'm not displeased if he comes, but I'm not sure he's what we need, certainly not top priority. if we sign him AND Kaka[type player] then it'd be perfect but we all know that's not gonna happen because the management's fetish for strikers is too big to allow them think properly about what we need.
Danny
Way I see it is simply that he's very very talented and supports Milan. Playing at the club he loves he might finally mellow out and be as good as he has the potential to be.
