Yeah, could be, but we have a good player in Constant who's gradually developing into a quality LB. That's why i find it a bit odd. This is actually hilarious. We've been longing for a good LB for years now ever since Jankulovski's decline, and now that we finally might have one, we want to sign another one? Oh dear. laugh.gif

Turning into a quality LB for me is a bit of a stretch. Constant is adequate. He does a good job in Serie A against average sides, the only big team we've faced is Juve and lets face it, Isla made him look like Ashley Cole. We've not seen him under and real pressure from fast paced teams. He'll get the real test against Roma, in the CL when it starts back up. Not against Genoa and the like.

I think a proper LB is still necassary for us, however, I do think that Constant is doing a good job so far, thus filling that position should be at the bottom of the list right now.

As for the rumoured Senijder Boateng swap. Why would we even consider it? It's Sneijder that wants to leave, we should try to offer them someone like Traore or Flamini biggrin.gif kill 2 birds with one stone biggrin.gif Or even better send Muntari back! Silvio calling him a champion made me laugh out loud. He was even horrible in the few minutes he got against Reggina!! It's going to be painful watching him start games in the DM position. I hope Ambro can keep up his fitness because otherwise we're going to be stuck with this dud starting games on a regular basis

News:

-Athletico Meneiro has jumped in the competition for Robinho. They are willing to pay 11m for him.

Negotiations have begun for Robinho already as the brazillian has told Galliani he wants to return to brazil. Milan are sending Raiola to negotiate a permanent deal. Reports suggest that milan want 11m euros for him or 7m + felipe anderson.

If Robinho is sold, the club will not bring in another striker as Allegri is ready to promote Niang to the role. The money will be used to bring in a midfielder that has been requested by Allegri.

-Berlusconi: "From now on I will just buy players who are 22 and younger"

Berlusconi: "We are monitoring 100 youngsters in Italy."

-We are linked with Obiang from sampdoria.

-Allegri: "Niang? I will consider using him in the matches from now on."

Allegri: "Zapata played well vs. Zenit. He has great physical and technical qualities."

Allegri: "Zapata is very fast and he's good in 1-on-1 situations. He has nothing to envy of the other defenders."

When was that?

We all know Berlu speaks BS on a consistant basis. I wouldn't be surprised if we brought in a 30+ year old this January.
Jack Sparrow
Well...we need experience, for sure. Otherwise we risk making the same mistake that was made by Arsenal. In any case we shouldn't be spending bombs buying youth. They should come from within if possible. Spending more than 20 million on a teenager is not necessarily smart, unless we're talking phenomenons with massive competition.

QUOTE
Berlusconi:

"This is a transitional period for us, as we have been successful for 26 years, but now we must have a little patience. We give ourselves three years to become a major force in Italy and in the world once again," Berlusconi is quoted as saying by Sky Sport Italia.

"We are focusing on our youth players and have some outstanding prospects at the club now, like the extraordinary 15-year-old Hachim Mastour, who will be able to play in Serie A when he turns 16.

"M'baye Niang is very much like Mario Balotelli, even his hairstyle is the same. The papers keep going on about Balotelli and us, but I never dreamed of bringing him here and he not on our transfer list.

"We are trying to boost the squad with the introduction of young players, but I hope we can sign some big names as well."

Berlusconi then had a word on the possible departure of Robinho to his native Brazil, and insisted that the club will try to keep him at San Siro.

"We hope to convince Robinho to stay here. He brings joy to the squad and we all like him. He misses Brazil, but he’s not for sale."

-Niang: Be like Balotelli? I'd prefer to be like the brazillian ronaldo.

Niang: "Stephan [El Sharaawy] is like a brother to me. We have been very close to each other since I arrived at the club."

-Allegri: "Pato will be ready for the match against Siena on the 6th of January."

Allegri: "Muntari needs to play in order to regain his fitness. I think that he will be in top shape again in January."

-Galliani has scheduled a meeting between Berlusconi, Braida, Allegri and the club directors after the Roma game. They media believes that milan have identified several targets for january and will use this oppurtunity to narrow the targets down to a short list and also discuss possible financing. No news yet as to if Raiola will be joining them as he is currently going to brazil to negotiate with Santos.

-The media believes Galliani has told Raiola that Santos can have Robinho if they are willing to pay 11m. That is the minimum.

-Pedulla (milan expert):

+the chances of Robinho being sold are high.
+Chirches will arrive on loan.
+Kucka rumours are fake and galliani is only interested in strootman or Naingollan.
+We are interested in Obiang.
+Armero could arrive as his price tag has dropped significantly.
+We are considering Wijnaldum in holland.
+The balotelli links are real, the problem is the financials.

-Di Marzio (journalist, market specialist):

+Allegri has asked for a midfielder and an attacker. Van Ginkel is who we are targeting but if robinho is sold we will make a bid for Strootman.

+He says that the transfer money isn't a problem for milan its the wages. The board has set a strict guideline for the club to reduce their wages so they are looking for players who have potential and won't cost us alot on the wage bill.

-Santos president has told brazillian media that he talked with robinho on the phone and the brazillian deseperatly wants to move back to santos. They sent an offer to milan but it was rejected, but their is a good relationship and negotations will continue. He also says hes open to felipe anderson talks.

The brazillian media is quite confident a deal will be struck soon. They believe that it will be somewhere around 6m and felipe Anderson who will move to milan in january.

Personally I'd prefer two midfielders, one attacking/creative as a backup for Montolivo and one defensive player to fill the void left by De Jong's injury. I wouldn't say no to a good attacker but I'd be ok with giving Niang and Bojan larger roles after Robinho is hopefully shipped out.
Bluesummers
Well if we sell Robinho we'll save about 4m on wages this year. (and another 8m next year as he costs 10m per year gross)

Our budget if silvio chips in will be around 25m since we spent about 20m in the summer. Silvio is allowed to spend 45m on milan as to FFP regulations.

If we sell Robinho for 11m that will give us 15m including the wages saved. So we'll have 40m euros to spend if we desire.

If we loan/sell players that number could go higher.

edit: If silvio doesn't chip in, we have basically 15m to spend barring the sale of Robinho. But I'm pretty confident he will, he always has, this year will be no different.

Anyways here our options from January to May.

Buy out bojan (15m) (buyout clause)
Buy armero (10m)
Buy strootman (15m)
buy balotelli (25-30m)
Buy zapata (6m) (buyout clause)
Buy Constant (8m) (buyout clause)
Chirches (7m) (buyout clause)
Acerbi (4m) (buy-out clause for the remaining half of him)

I won't count the random youth players.

Anyways, im' curious.

Lets say you have 30m this transfer window (we probably wont spend our whole budget, we'll save some for next summer) Who would you sign? I won't include wages because it will just complicate it.
Bluesummers
Vlad Chirches ....holy sh*t ohmy.gif

Strootman and [insert quality striker name].
X-Offender
You know what, I actually wouldn't mind that Bojan and El Shaarawy were our starting forwards for the rest of the season. They're both technically gifted and move a lot, opening spaces for Boateng's and Nocerino's insertions from the back. I actually feel Bojan should be played on a regular basis, like Zapata, but with Allegri sometimes things are just impossible.
Bluesummers
What do you guys think about buying constant full out at 8m euros. too high or just right?

Personally I wouldn't pay more than 4m for him

What about bojan? 15m is a high number for someone who hasn't really impacted our team that much. But he's young and that could change, worth the investment?
KillerMax
I think 5 for Constant and 8-10 for Bojan is good.
Bluesummers
Interesting bit on our players:

What we paid for our players when we bought them

galliani is a genius
X-Offender
I'm pretty sure we paid €22 million for Pato, not €26.
Bluesummers
your right we paid 22m, my bad

so that bring us to an average of 3m and a total of 97m for 32 players.

Allegri was asked about the upcoming January transfer window and revealed the situation.

“The club knows perfectly well which players I like and could replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva.

“Robinho has told us he wants to go home to Brazil. Obviously, if he changes his mind then we will be very happy to keep him here, but if he wants to go then it’s right he does.”

Santos have confirmed they are in negotiations for Robinho after their initial offer was rejected.

-Seedorf has contacted Galliani this week asking if they need his services for the second half of the season. Galliani thanked him but said the club wants to stick with its youth project.

-Pescara and parma have both enquired about Traore.

-Allegri: "We're looking to sign midfielders and strikers. Next week I'll talk with the board about the January transfer market."

-According to the italian media, we have a verbal agreement with Weiss. He will move to us in january.

-The armero deal has taken an interesting turn. Udinese are willing to get less money for him in exchange that Calvano be included in the deal.

-Balotelli has opened a law suit against manchester city for undeserved fines.

Balotelli is set to leave #mcfc in Jan if a buyer can be found after going to the Premier League to try get his fine overturned. [Telegraph]

#mcfc fined Mario two weeks wages for missing 11 of the club's 54 games (more than 20%) through suspension last season. He won't accept it.

According to the Indy, Mancini has personally sanctioned the fine against Mario. The man who has fought to keep Mario at City. Goodbye Balo?

News:

-Robinho to Santos looks close to being wrapped up. It is expected that the clubs will come to terms around 10m euros for him. Felipe anderson will not be coming January, but could arrive in July. Either way Milan will have first options on him.

-Vlad Weiss is set to the be the replacement for Robinho. Berlusconi has given the green light for Galliani and Raiola to conclude the deal. Pescara want 5m for him but Milan will give 3m max. Carmona could also head the other way in a loan deal. Weiss's contract will expire in July.

-Perin could be one of our summer targets as Abbiati is set to be on his way out at the end of the season. The genoa player has been doing well with Pescara thus far and has impressed our management.

Perin: "I'd like to play with El Shaarawy"

-Balotelli looks to be on his way out of City as their relationship has further deterioted. Balotelli has recently filed a law suit against city for unfair fines. Balotelli missed 11 games last year due to suspension.

Media experts in Italy believe that Balotelli will not move to milan as his 6m euro wage per season is too high for the club. There are currently no clubs interested in signing balotelli. Milan will on negotatie a deal if it is a loan+buy deal and that balotelli takes a pay cut. (they dont' take into account berlusconi though wink.gif )

-Corinithians president has said after winning the club world cup that his club dreams of signing Pato. Chances of Pato leaving this January are low as the club values him at around 30m euros, far too high for corinthians. (and hes also banging barbara wink.gif )

-Galliani: "We are currently monitoring all the best under 23 players in the world"

-The media in italy believes that Strootman is our number 1 target this January. Allegri has asked for a midfielder and a foreward and the club has identified strootman and weiss to be the candidates.

-We are linked with Biabiany.

We are linked with Destro.

We are linked with Jack Sparrow.

We are linked with Barrientos.

acid911
I guess, short term Seedorf and Lucio won't hurt. unsure.gif Not sure we'll get either, maybe Lucio, maybe.
Jack Sparrow
I would say no to Seedorf as an active player. I love him to bits, but in this new Milan in this new team atmosophere he'd be an anachronism who has a place purely based on reputation.

Lucio only makes sense, as a step up from Yepes and Bonera. Acerbi is not a viable comparison, since we are using him as a backup anyway. Besides Lucio will need at least 3 in wages, and I'm guessing he's headed to Germany.
X-Offender
Lucio??? I'd rather keep Acerbi. And we're getting this Chichires guy in January who's supposed to be really good, so there's no reason for us to sign Lucio. Inter dumped him, now Juve dumped him halfway through the season. The guy's really bad and we don't need him.
