Is it true they got him for 4 million? It's a steal.

Now we're being linked to Osvaldo (mediaset).
han2503
Just like I predicted...

Very promising rumours pre window opening, plunging into dispare as we go into the transfer window with things getting worse by the day...

I would expect nothing less from our inept management tbh
Rossoneri7
Doubt the rumor mills will add anything to our market, except disappointment han.

We might get a WC player, just one if that player respects our wage cap. Otherwise, more Muntaris and Flaminis are incoming... Unless you consider Destro to being something significant .. That should sum up this mercato biggrin.gif

For once Silvio and I think alike. Destro is the striker I'd sign without hesitation.

I think everyone can see this coming not just me. The management have become so predicatable. And we've been let down so many times in recent years that it's pointless to even hope for something decent

Milan? There are rumors which suggest that we have included a clause in Pato's new contract with Corinthians which allows us to sign him again after two years time.

I hope that's true. and it's a logical thing to do at this point IMO, to secure first option on him. otherwise if he gets fit again and shows he's not finished, there's no way other European teams will not try to sign him when he's still so young. hell, his departure won't even hurt anymore if that's true, cause it's a win-win situation for the club. we'll see...

I disagree. I think out of the mentioned, only Drogba would present a upgrade and new element in attack. Destro would be, just like Bojan, another "foreign" short-term element I fear.

But yes, Pato coming back makes perfectly sense.

Like R7 said, pretty much every winter period is a preconceived failure if your expectations are in sync with the rumor mill.

Winter transfer window is usually a nightmare and you have to over pay. Teams won't let their starters go uness it's for a big price usually and most teams backups are in no way good enough for us.

I imagine that conversation went something like this:

Milan: Hi, is this Drogba's agent?
Drogba's agent: Yes?
Milan: Yes hi, we are calling with great interest to inform you.. wait hold on.. I'm getting a message from the president.. Yes, your client is in fact too old.

It looks like Abate might be signing for Zenit, according to La Gazzetta.

No idea. It's just on Gazzetta's front page of tomorrow.
Jack Bauer
Here it's mostly speculation about how they might offer us 10m for him. There's also nothing about it in the russian press so I don't think it's more than a rumor at this point.

If Gazzetta is putting it on their front page, then I doubt it's only a rumor.

Sell Abate? I hope it's a lie. Cause that would just be confusing.

10m wouldn't be near enough for me. 15-20m and I'd have to think about it.
Zed.D
20m is way, way too much for Abate, let's be realistic.
han2503
Nice...

Let's sell off all of our good players while we're at it...

At zed, no it's not enough when he's the best RB in the league and most importantly one of our most important players. It's ridiculous to even think about selling him right now!
Fillipo Simone
If Robinho is worth 8-10 million the Abate is at least 15, if not more. But it would be ridiculous to sell one of our starters in mid season, leaving us with a kid and a veteran that never really could play a fullback in adequate proportions.
KillerMax
Who is the veteran? Antonini? He is a worst RB than he is a LB and that's saying a lot..
Zed.D
I'm not saying we should sell Abate (unless a better replacement is brought in which will never happen, not in January at least), I'm saying it doesn't matter how you value him, no club will pay 20m for Abate. I'd be amazed if anyone did.

Maybe. And maybe not. With today's ridiculous sums and since the Russians are involved...20M isn't that crazy.

He is a makeshift RB than can hardly reach the opposition's half. He is decent defensively on the right, but it's more like playing with a handicap. It's not like he is Costacurta and can play RB like a BOSS! Wasn't he 40 with that assist against Barca... From that to Acerbi... wacko.gif
X-Offender
I swear, if we sell Abate, then I will never stop hating Galliani for the rest of my life.

I do share the exact same sentiments
X-Offender
Yes, but Abate's sale is very evitable and unnecessary. We don't really have any reason as why to sell him, as opposed to Ibra, Thiago, Pato etc.

So why don't we just pack up and give up while we're at it?

So now we're going to sell anyone when an offer that goes over 10m comes in?

Abate is one of the last few good ones we have, he's a product of our system and still young. Add to that he's on a small salary. There is no good reason as to why he should be sold.

Sell him and then what?

How could I forget. And correct me if I'm wrong, but the match before Billy also played RB against Fiorentina and made a major contribution.

Why not just sell the club rather then every possible positive player we have left?
X-Offender
I don't remember him making an assist against Barça. In fact, I don't remember him playing against them at all. It was Stam who played as RB. I only remember Billy playing as RB against Fiorentina and assisting Kaká's header with a cross from the right.

Now that I think about it, I believe he played as CB in the second leg at Camp Nou because we were short of defenders. Here, let me check...

Yep: http://it.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/sea...7457/index.html

He didn't play in the first leg though, wasn't even on the bench.

Adriano Galliani has confirmed Robinho turned down offers from other Brazilian clubs after talks with Santos broke down. “He’s staying with Milan.”

The Vice-President was in Brazil over Christmas to complete Alexandre Pato’s €15m sale to Corinthians, though Robinho did not get his move to Santos.

“Binho did not want to leave Milan, he just wanted to go home,” explained Galliani this evening.

“We failed to agree a deal with Santos and his agent couldn’t agree personal terms either.

“Other Brazilian clubs were ready to fulfil all the requirements, but Robinho wanted to stay with Milan. I heard from Gremio yesterday and they wanted him at all costs.

“There are regrets over Pato, as he had two stratospheric seasons without injury and was also decisive in the 2011 Scudetto.

“The lad wanted to go back to Brazil and joined the side that won the Club World Cup.

“With Pato there were six strikers, while now we have five and they are enough. If nobody else leaves, then nobody will come in during the January window.”

But you see, Cafu came in for Billy, which could indicate he played a RB and Stam the CB. I know Ancelotti used Stam as a rightback most of the time, but still, I do remember Billy playing the fullback against Barcelona.

It could also mean that Stam switched to CB when Cafu came in. I say this because I'm positive Billy played as CB against Barça, and this article proves it.
